Use your karaoke app with an external speaker instead of headphones!
I've been looking for an XLR mic that I could use with my Smule Karaoke Sing app in conjunction with an iRig-pre adapter. Seems like overkill, I know but it's really not. Be patient and hear me out. Let me explain. First, I cannot sing into a pair of earbuds. They still sound good but they don't feel right. A handheld or standup mic is always the way to go. Now, in order to use these apps you have to have an earbud or wired headphones so you can hear the music. You can't really plug into an external speaker and listen to the music while singing into the app with standard headphones or mics.. Doing so will cause severe sound distortion as the mic picks up sound coming from the external speakers which then gets picked up by the mic and then then gets transmitted back to speakers again, which the mic then picks up again. It's a continuing cycle of snowballing distortion. However, there are times I WANT to use an external speaker so that I can use the app to perform as if it were a stand alone karaoke machine. This IS the only mic (of this acoustic and build quality) that allows me to that. Why? Because it does a very good job of only picking up your voice coming out of your mouth. You can increase the volume of the external speakers to a reasonably high volume and the mic won't pick it up. There is hardly any distortion depending on how loud the external speaker is. I initially got the SM58 but it was a little to muddled and bassy for my voice type so I returned it for this based on reviews. I don't regret it...pricey yes, but it's a long term investment which will gives many years of pleasure and satisfaction as it beats the SM 58 in sound quality and external sound isolation. You can hear and assess the sound quality of this mic for yourself, utilizing the aforementioned setup with no headphones, using an external speaker/monitor only, by listening to some of the songs I've done using this mic on Smule Sing karaoke app profile name @RichPaterno. You can also just go the Smule.com website and search for my profile name and click on the MOST RECENT videos tab where I have used this mic. It has the most gorgeous sound OMG!

Great mic! Ima. Singer in a band and take my mic to my own shows — my own mic always sounds better than the house mics! Love it !

Good solid live mic
I was using another microphone which was nice and had good definition but this one has more punch. I just needed to EQ is correctly. It’s my go to mic now.

Good quality mic, but I’m going back to the SM58
I bought this mic because I tried my friend’s super 55 delux and liked it, and I read that the beta 58 has the same capsule. I like the sound of both those nice when singing softly. Unfortunately, in a band setting when the electric guitars get loud and I have to sing loudly to cut through above the overdrive the beta 58 sounds to shrill. It could probably be great with some parametric eq but my band uses a mixer that only has bass mid treble and that’s not enough to eq the shrill high end to make this mix sound good for loud vocals. So I’m going back to the good old sm58. Just be careful when you buy that sm58 that you don’t get a counterfeit one because there are many fakes of that mic selling on the internet these days.

Me ha salido muy bien, de gran batalla, excelente fidelidad y sonido, y, yo canto naturalmente con bajo volumen y con éste micrófono ya no sufro con ello.

Nice little microphone, a real workhorse for vocals. It’s getting constant use in a band setting where all the singers are using the same model.
