Okay book. Don't pay much attention to the 5-star reviews.
I was also confused about why there were so many overwhelmingly positive reviews for this book since they sounded fake. After purchasing the book, this is what I found it said on one of the first pages: "Publish a review for this book on Amazon.com and receive free access to our online practice resources in appreciation of your time and effort." I thought this was a little under-handed.The content of the book itself was okay. Some explanations were good, and I appreciated that they were as thorough as they were. However, I thought other answers had faulty logic. The range of difficulty is pretty broad, with some questions way harder than what I expect to find on the real MCAT (and hard only in that they required annoying memorization, such as the electronic configurations of various transition metals). As others have pointed out, there are a good deal of typos, but most of them are just poor sentence constructions, like incorrect noun-verb agreement or omitted words. A little frustrating.Nonetheless, the tests cover mostly the appropriate material and I think this book is better than the Kaplan tests, which I thought had more typos and even worse reasoning at times. The best resource I have found are the practice exams from the AAMC, but unfortunately, those cost $35 a pop.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE GOOD REVIEWS. I bought this book mainly because of the amazing reviews that it had. I was retaking the MCAT and wanted fresh materials that were very similar to the test itself. Once I bought the book, I realized that the company gave you free access to online questions if you gave them a good review on amazon. Then I understood that most of the reviews I read were likely written only for this purpose. This is incredibly deceptive and I have lost a lot of faith in this book and this company just because of that fact. The pros: the difficulty of the passages, the subjects tested, and the style of questions used in these practice tests were similar to the real MCAT, and having these additional problems to do will be useful no matter what. The cons: Many typographical errors, both in explanations of correct answers and in passages themselves. This made me question the overall accuracy of the answers provided. Some answers were also blatantly wrong, and you just have to hope that you are smart enough not to believe those explanations.

Essential for the science portion or the MCAT
I think this book is excellent and essential if you want to do well on the science portion of the MCAT. I enjoyed working with it and feel that my knowledge and understanding of the material has improved greatly. The questions are very relevant and the explanations are what you should read carefully and learn from. I personally like the test format better than review notes because it makes you think the concepts through and understand how they apply to the question. I feel that I am able to retain the information from the explanations better than if I just read through an outline for the topic.I am very satisfied with this book and glad that I came across it. I highly recommend it to others!UPDATE:Excellent Book - bought one for a friend. This MCAT book is excellent! I already left the review for it. My roommate and study partner asked me to get him one of these, so I bought a second one.

Accurate representation of MCAT
I used this book during the 3 weeks before I took the MCAT. It seems to correlate well with the material that is covered in Princeton Review and Kaplan study books. The questions are very similar to those that you see on the MCAT. The only difference I noticed was that some of the passages in this book are longer than they normally are on the MCAT. It actually gave me some unexpected extra time during the actual test, which was nice. These practice tests really showed me where my specific weaknesses were. Definitely recommend if you are looking for additional practice at a reasonable price.

Great Book; Money well spent
This is an excellent book. I have used other test preparation books for the MCAT in the past and would rate this book as by far the best.I was particularly impressed with the depth of the explanations as well as the specificity of the detail. Explanations are clear, concise and simply make sense! Additionally, this book does not contain frustrating typographical or syntax errors like so many others that I have used. The price is very reasonable and I consider this was money very well spent. As an FYI: This book is also offered in two separate volumes for physical and biological sciences. I recommend you buy this full version because it is more economical. I have a friend who bought both volumes separately which is how I learned about this book.

Good price and section tests make up for poor grammar
This book was exactly what I was looking for. It has 8 total practice section tests which is great for the price. The only thing to that needs to be improved in future editions is the grammar. While understandable, at times it seems as though it was not edited properly. There are also a couple of errors in the passages.

Pretty Good Content-wise
Good material and the online tests are an awesome resource. the passages seem designed to help you study the background material while taking practice tests, that is if you go back and review the full answer explanations to see what you got or missed. I'd buy it again.

Great MCAT Book
This book was recommended to me by the MCAT tutor I work with as a study aid. I found it exceptionally good and very helpful for learning MCAT topics. The explanations are definitely what you should spend a lot of time reading and understanding. I learned a lot from them. They don't only explain the right choice, but go through wrong choices and explain why those choices are wrong. Would recommend this book to anyone studying for the MCAT.
