Purchased this starter motor because my 30 year old Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0L 6cyl was beginning to show her age and get bitchy and frequently began to stall out randomly while driving and then unable to start following. Knowing that it could be one or more of a myriad of reasons, I knew to start from the battery and check everything that involves the engine ignition and discovered the starter solenoid ground wire was barely holding by a thread because the terminal attached to it cracked and broke off. So.... on a budget and finding the I could get it faster and less pricey than locally, i took a chance with Amazon and I'm very pleased i did. This starter does what starters were made to do and that's to start things... Specifically my jeep. Everything fit as required with no issues with installation. Once installed, after one jump start it fired up right away. I celebrated and i was back on the road in no time. Unfortunately, i assumed that was my only problem and failed to bother checking the rest of the ignition system thinking i had fixed it to completion. It was just the first issue among a list of other similarly annoying issues. But...if you need a starter that will do what it's made to do and start your car that was otherwise not starting. This will work. But i recommend checking everything else too if you're having no start issues

I was looking for a 97 Tj Sahara starter to help troubleshoot the cause for my initial start up failure. (My jeep just stopped working one day after being a daily driver for over 8 months and couldnt figure out what caused this) This starter is an excellent choice for a replacement as its pretty close to the original. (Maybe better) I purchased a new battery, starter, spark plugs, oil in that order and the problem persists. Went to change the belt, maybe its not gripping, i noticed the alternator seized up! Needless to say this starter had more torque (or luck) than the one one that was replaced allowing me to notice where the problem was faster. Excellent price, fast easy installation and was able to find a solution in one day where as my old starter wouldn't crank or click or react as if it was still good (its still good but i will hold on to it for when this one fails) the price on this particular listing ive seen fluctuate but decided to wait it out and got it at a real deal. Thank you for the great product, no questions about returning. My starter came with a sheet of paper that had computer diagnostics about the product. Starter also came with all wiring screws/lock nut washers necessary so you didnt have to reuse the older parts.

Product seems to be working great, I put it on in about 20 minutes give or take. The reason I'm giving this four stars is because when the package arrived it was damaged the box was damaged one of the terminals was slightly bent but it still worked.

This starter had real good reviews that's why I bought it and installed it and everything the reviews said was true engine turns over faster quality product a good value for your money was delivered with no damage and would purchase again if needed in the future. Thanks again.

Excellent powerful starter! Spins the engine fast, perfect fit, it's a little loud but as powerful as it is I'd except it to be. My opinion is it's an excellent value for the money.

This starter isn't an exact swap. It does fit but the female threads in the starter don't work with the stock mounting bolt. This is information that should be mentioned somewhere because if you thread the stock bolt into the replacement starter it strips the female threads. I would not recommend this starter, they didn't get the bolt size right. Total fail.
