To test the fluke theory, I set the second trap inside a pantry, with door slightly open, because.. pantry moths. Nothing. Zilch. Nada... for the first few days. Then a single moth was stuck. Then nothing for days. So, I moved that trap to the hall, where there is no food of any kind anywhere nearby. A few days later, it started collecting more moths. This trap requires a lot of patience. If it hasn't caught anything for days or even a couple weeks, don't give up. Leave it out and you might eventually be as surprised as I was when it starts collecting moths. Evidently, even with moths flying closely around these traps, it still takes them a while to "find" it, after which it starts collecting them. I wonder whether this is some kind of delayed activation time after the protective film sheet is removed from the glue, perhaps designed to preserve it for increased shelf life?
