I use two of them, the first jack outputs all power to either a plugged in external speaker or the internal speaker, and the second jack uses the unplugged passthrough output of the jack 1 to connect an external speaker serially. So, three options: nothing plugged in gets the internal speaker, jack 1 sends to an external speaker and mutes the internal, and the third option sends to both the internal and external speakers.
