Much better than my last one. Has an audible sound as well as red light. Torch also useful in tight places.

This device is great for identifying live cables and individual conductors. It's not too sensitive you you can usual identify a single live conductor from a bunch (given, say 25mm spacing to avoid confusion), e.g. '3-plate' at a ceiling rose. !! It should not be used as the sole means for safe-isolation!! Audible bleep and red glow to tip for live condition. VERY handy torch built in to tip - surprisingly powerful for such a small device. Very good value against devices twice the price. I own, or have used, three other types and this is my favourite

I bought this tester, erroniously thinking that it would find cables buried in walls. My fault, it does not claim to do that. What it does do, and does very well, is the purpose for which it IS designed... identifying surface cables that are live, plug sockets, light switches etc., pointing to (for instance) a blown fuse and identifying a live cable from a dead one; very handy for identifying such cables in a loft, for instance. As I do need a cable / stud detector for buried cables, I have ordered a Bosch instrument designed for the purpose, but I will not be sending this little pen back to Amazon. It really is a great piece of kit.

I used this while replacing socket and light fittings as well as rewiring a ceiling rose. Fantastic little tool, easy to use and seems reliable. However, if have metal sockets like black nickel or polished steel, it won't detect a current very well if at all... Shallow depth wiring behind plasterboard is detected quite well too. All in all, seems trustworthy and works a charm.

Until two weeks ago, when a professional electrician came to do some work for me, I didn't know these things existed (I'm about 20 years out of date...). He showed me what his professional device could do, I bought this much cheaper deive and I could not be be more pleased - it really does do exactly what it sets out to do, easily and safely.

Der Stift funktioniert bei Kabeln in Kabelkanälen überhaupt nicht. Ohne nur zu ca. 10%. Um ein halbwegs vernünftiges Ergebnis zu bekommen, muss man um das Kabel mit dem Stich „herumfahren“, was nicht Sinn der Sache ist. Bei einer Kindersicherung in einer Steckdose funktioniert er auch nicht.

Den här pennan hade väldigt dålig känslighet, mina andra pennor fungerar mycket bättre. Slösa inte pengarna i onödan, köp något bättre istället.

Stift funktioniert nur direkt an spannungsführenden Teilen, keine Umgebungsüberwachung, wie bei vergleichbaren Prudukten. Lampenfunktion ist in Ordnung. Keine Weiterempfehlung.
