Just the job
Allowed me to connect a standard pair of in ear head phones but keep a PTT pressure switch. Not as good as the professional equivalent but about 15% of the price.

I have an Import Sport hearing protection which has an audio input. Works for iPhone, whatever. Ive been looking for the right setup to get it to work for me as a headset for Paintball. This plus a Headphone Audio Cable with Mic Boom cable did the trick. I have looked forever for the right combination to be able to use the hearing protection with it (also enhances sound). Contemplated throat mics but only one I found offered 3.5mm jack and it was not a trustworthy site and didnt appear to offer good pickup. Tons of other mics out there but none offered the right outputs and I dont solder. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0758RJ56Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I was also able to readily hookup an old Xbox headset with mic. I was also able to get that plus the Impact Sport to work using a headset Y but that left me with another speaker. I guess I could tear it apart and remove the speaker. Also able to get another mic (that also still had speakers) to work by using a headset splitter to mic and audio going through the other headset Y. But neither of those two were ideal with the Impact Sport. If I just wanted the Xbox mic that would have been fine, but in the woods with paint and potentially rain I didnt want to chance it. Still a good alternative for general use hiking or something. I swear, Ive researched for days over the course of years to find the right setup. I cant speak to its ruggedness. I can say out of the bag with the right connections its working just as I hoped.

Very promising. My wife and I use our Baofeng BF-F8 radios at IndyCar races to listen to the track audio feed. We found that the Baofeng OEM earphones that came with the radios had terrible, badly distorted, audio. This adapter allows us to use our iPhone earbuds, and the audio quality is noticeable better. We found that gaming headsets also work, but do not provide the hearing protection we need. So we will wear 3M industrial ear defenders over our earbuds. We'll be at the next race in a few weeks; that will be the real test. One challenge that is still to be addressed is where to stash the extra long coiled PTT cable when it's not in use.

If you're using a two way radio and already own some nice headphones with a microphone built in this is a great way to upgrade from those cheap earpieces that they come with. I use this with some Shure In-Ear monitors that have a great fit and noise blocking abilities, but also had to purchase one of these https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B074V1RDTP/ because the Shure IEMs do not have a microphone built into the line. My one complaint is that given the length of most headphone cabling you will be plugging into this thing, the length of cable on this unit is excessive. I end up clipping the radio to my belt and coiling this near it and activating the push-to-talk button from my hip. It ends up being a huge tangle of cables by the end of the night, but I still prefer that to using cheap plastic earpieces and going deaf from all of the bleed from a noisy environment.

Works great with headphones plus microphone. Audio comes out of both left and right- mono as one would expect. Unfortunately, I cannot get it to work with M1 to K1 adapter. If your radio is BTECH k1 it will work well.
