The one I purchased is mounted on a CZ 452 American .22 long rifle with BKL medium rings that allow enough clearance for the bolt to work. As some have noted this scope has 1/2 minute clicks. That is 1/4" at fifty yards and 1/2" at a hundred yards. If that disqualifies it as a serious target scope and you want a serious target scope, shop for something else. If you want an easily adjustable and accurate scope for your shooting and think a half minute click will give you the ability to shoot the eye of a squirrel at treetop height, this is for you. Remember that when you go to the woods with a rifle, you are going to have to exercise a certain level of skill to know exactly where to hold on you your target at various ranges and various angles to the horizon. Know where your rifle is going to shoot at various ranges and lean back in reliance on kentucky windage and elevation when your target will be gone before you can twiddle a scope knob. The important factor is being able to see the target clearly and to know that the settings of your sight are not going to change without warning. This scope will do you proud in the field and if you do not mind using a bit of kentucky windage and elevation to close the 1/2 minute click intervals, will give you a chance to shoot as well as your rifle and ammo and your hand will allow at any range you attempt. If the parallax is off for you, you should use the eye-piece adjustment to adjust the "diopter". This diopter adjustment should get the parallax setting closer to the numbers listed on the front of the scope for actual distances on a person-by-person basis. This is a scope that's made for air rifles and 22LR. The turrets adjust your point of impact 1/2" at 100 yards, 1/4" at 50 yards, and 1/8" at 25 yards. Most air rifle competition shoots are at 10M which is roughly 1/16" per click at that distance for this scope. That is more than reasonable for a scope designed for air rifles. If you're looking for a true target scope that has finer adjustments than this, you're going to be spending a lot more money than what this item is sold for. FX makes a good set. **Q: Anyone tried this scope on a CZ 512 standard with iron sights, if so what height rings clear the rear iron sight,also scope length ?** A: You will probably have to use an 1" anyway due to the large "40" front on the Nikon, regardless of the sights. All in all, I am extremely happy with this purchase! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Versatile Rimfire Rifle Scope *by W***E on May 25, 2013* I purchased this scope to use on a Weatherby Mark XXII 22LR semiauto rifle. My previous experiences with Nikon rifle scopes (I have 8, incuding this one) have always been very positive. THis one has a 1" diameter tube and reasonble weight for a 40MM objectve lens scope. First of all, some definitions - EFR stands for Extended Focusing Rnge. AO stands for adjustable objective lens. The scope is unique in that it has eye piece and objective lens focusing rings. It does not have a side focus parallax adjustment knob - I suspect parallax is optimized for 50 yards. The eye piece ring lets you focus the scope's cross hair reticle for your eye. The objective focusing ring let's you set the distance range you expect to shoot for as close as 11 yards. Most scopes do not focus closer than 25 yards. The optics are sharp and the display is bright throughout the zoom range. The eye relief is limited at maximum zoom, so you will want to mount & position the scope at max zoom to match your most comfortable eye position. In my case, for my length of pull, the scope is mounted slightly further back than the other Nikon scopes I have on my other rifles. The zoom range is ideal for 50 yards and can handle up to 100 yards for a 3" bullseye target. These are the two distances that I shoot at my range. My only negative is that the turret adjustment knob reference marks (both elevation & windage)do not align well with the 1/4 MOA gradations on the turret shafts. A minor annoyance.
