MG217 Psoriasis 3% Coal Tar Therapeutic Scalp Treatment, 4 Fl Oz

This product was awesome. Went to buy it again and unavailable. Bought something similar thinking it would be similar so wrong. This product needs to be back in stock. It helped my scalp so much and now it’s unavailable.

I suffer from vitiligo, psoriasis and eczema. The worst of the three was the scalp psoriasis, which left my head with painful, insanely itchy welts. I shed tons and tons of skin (which looks like dandruff). I went to a dermatologist and despite my common sense diagnosis, they wanted me to spend money and do an allergy test. So I never went back. I tried lots of natural and home remedies with no avail. Rubbed in coconut oil. EVERYTHING. And I suffered for five years. I tried this product out of moderate desperation. I applied it to my scalp and it smells like a mechanic's garage. My husband describes it as an "earthy smell". I wasn't a fan of it at first, but after a few days, I notice it less and less and the smell doesn't stay with you after a rinse. It didn't work right away, but as I described, my scalp was really bad. I noticed a drastic change after about two weeks. I do still shed a little, but nothing like I used to. Let's just say I'm comfortable wearing black again. My scalp is no longer raised and red. And most importantly, I am no longer itchy!!!! I am amazingly grateful for this product and I will continue to purchase it in the future.

I've been through all brands of these types of treatments for my condition since I was a kid, nothing has worked. This has helped a little, but does not completely clear it up, so I'm still living with it. The smell is very strong and does not go away, smells like pure medicine, and the liquid is dark green. I'm updating with good news, even though it took a good 5 weeks or so, it completely cleared up my scalp condition, which was severe. I'm very happy about this. I only use it once a week now compared to using it everyday in the beginning. Just to keep the build up from coming back. I will keep buying this shampoo!

Keeps my psoriasis flakes away. I have no flakes and red, itchy patches much less often. Almost no dry patches, except if I skip use. Perspiration results in stinging almost burning sensation at the nape and around my ears and crown. I control it by I thoroughly cleansing with either the MG217 shampoo and conditioner combo or just the MG217 shampoo to wash before treating. I use at least once or twice weekly. I scrub it on scalp and leave on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing cleaning and follow with any deep conditioning treatment. I have naturally black, thick curly hair. Difficult to contain or tame into any hair band or pony tail without a daily styling product . It is curly, wavy and very frizzy and dry if I don't use a deep conditioner. I am Cuban and I am mixed race. I no longer use the medicated treatments my doctors prescribed.

I was very upset to get this on June 7th, 2021 and find that it had expired last month. I am not impressed but I figured instead of dealing with the hassle of trying to exchange it ect... I'm just going to use it in hopes it helps somewhat. It may not be as "Strong" or "Powerful" as it should be but ill give it a shot. I read reviews that the smell was terrible and don't buy it whatever. Of course it is going to not smell great it has tar, so common sense. I didn't think it was that bad, reminds me of T-gel shampoo a little. I didn't give it 5 stars because it was expired, and the simple fact i have only used it a couple weeks and I am not sure if i am getting the full effect of it. I will say though I do think it is helping with some of the flakes.

For a long time, I had what I thought was dandruff, and I was like, pathetic about trying to do anything about it. I used some Neutrogena T-something shampoo and then when that didn't work I just resigned myself to it. But then I read about MG217 in some blog on reddit, and someone said they had good results using the shampoo with a shampoo brush (you can get the brush on amazon or cheaper at Sally Beauty Supply). This shampoo has parabens in it, which people are like 'oh no' about, but if you read this source parabens are fine so whateves ([...]). OK, so even if parabens aren't great, it literally does not matter because this shampoo worked overnight for me. I'm pretty sure I was dealing with seborrheic dermatitis, and it is now completely gone, and I only use this shampoo once a week. I don't use other shampoos. Smells weird like medicine, but again, whatever, because my scalp is healed.

Nevermind, dermatologist - **I'm all good getting through winter with this stuff. Just a couple tricks: 1) wash your hair with a salicylic shampoo or just head & shoulders, rub your scalp, to loosen flakes and scales - on your scalp ------> 2) *Then Use This - let it sit for a few minutes 3) *Use It Again - let it sit for a few more 4) condition. Lower 7/8 of your hair. 5) do all that 3/4 more shampoos over time Monitor your scalp. You'll know how long to do this. *Shake the Bottle **It'll go away. Eventually, it'll go away and you'll have your summertime scalp back. **it'll go away if it's a case of winter scalp. I'm not a doctor. This procedure ONLY works for me, but try it out.

It stinks to high heaven. Save your money and buy T-gel if you want to try a noxious Coal Tar treatment. I have mild psoriasis and this did nothing to relieve itching or clear my scalp & legs. I thought maybe since it was a higher concentration that it would work, but just another fail. Selsun Blue Anti-Itch Liquid ScalpTreatment is the only non Rx item I have found to actually stop itching on my scalp.Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Conditioner also helps with spot treatment (my ears flake a lot too).

Used for mild head psoriasis. It did not work. I might even believe it made my scalp flakier. Will try one more use to confirm. Not happy as it was an expensive purchase. Do not reccoemend

Buenísimo para la psoriasis.

No tengo Psoriasis, pero si tenia comezon, residuos parecidos a la caspa y cabello grasoso que los shampoos comerciales o H&S no podian arreglar. Este es un buen producto para quienes sufren de cuero cabelludo graso o para darle un reset al pelo en general. Tiene un aroma fuerte pero se quita cuando el pelo esta completamente seco.
