Bessey 12" Gearklamp Quick Action Bar Clamp

Ever tried to use an F-clamp and found yourself smashing your fingers trying to tighten the clamp, because the twist handle was so close to a leg or side? Yeah, me too... These clamps completely eliminate that problem! The handle that tightens the clamp is well back from the clamping surfaces, so you can tighten these clamps down with ease in those situations. Such an elegant solution to a vexing problem! Bessey makes quality clamps that are generally somewhat overpriced (in my opinion), so I usually have a hard time recommending them. But this is a truly innovative product, and Bessey is the only company I've seen offering them, so in this case, I'll make the exception. I highly recommend these clamps. You don't need a lot of them, but having a few of them in various sizes might just save you a few busted knuckles!

These are very well made and it’s a good thing that Amazon carries these as they are much more expensive at a big box store. If you’re looking for a clamp that provides more knuckle space these are what your looking for. They do require 2 hands. If I ever need more I wouldn’t hestitate to buy a couple more from Amazon.

When I opened the package the twist handles had fallen off the bars and I had to reinstall them. I have 10 others that were fine and these clamps work really well.

These clamps are great for getting into tight spaces. Also I love the way they work, very novel idea !!! I bought 4 of them and use them all the time. Bessy makes the best clamps out there and you will not be disappointed at all. They seem to be pretty robust as well. It would be a buy again if I need more of them.

I needed these clamps immediately after receiving them so that I could repair a door and I found the design to be well-thought out. A quick-release for moving the clamp for large adjustments and then cinch it down with the handle... and they hold tight. I love 'em. They're also heavy duty - no buckling.

If you work alone on woodworking this clamp is going to make you smile! Standard F clamps are awkward for a one person project often because they require two hands to operate and they end up being under the work surface so you need another person or six extra clamps to rig a secure project glue up!

These difitely have a cool "gadget" factor to them. I kind of wonder if there's an application for these where a "pistol grip" bar clamp wouldn't work as well (at least for the shorter ones). For a longer clamp-up, these do seem to have a stiffer bar and probably won't flex as much if you can't use a pipe clamp. There might be some "in-place" applications where these will have an advantage, but they're probably not a "must have" for workshop clamping. Also, the range of motion of the screw is fairly short so you have to get the grip set pretty closeto the final before tightening, and it might not clear around some face frames.

Bessey very well known and respected Brand amongst wood workers Pity Amazon didnt know how to pack the 2 clamps properly . Package arrived with 1 of the cramps half hanging out after an end punched its way thru the thin cardboard packaging - should have been better support within the package in the 1st place shame on you AMAZON- YOU NEED DO BETTER!!! you can not just throw a couple of naked clamps into a simple cardboard box without doing some basic work to stop the clamps flying about inside the box when handled thru the delivery process . Not the 1st time you have done this.

Like most clamps, it's... in my view an expensive piece of kit. That said I have purchased 4 of these and 25 of the same brand just different sizes. IT IS WELL-MADE AND DOES EXACTLY WHAT IT IS INTENDED TO DO! Again in my humble opinion if it was 15% less across the board I probably would have all my clamps like this (73). Great product just a wee bit expensive.
