Best recorder I've owned over the years and I've had ...
Best recorder I've owned over the years and I've had all of them, Olympus, Pearlcorder, other Sony recorders, all media formats from tape to flash. This much more dependable than I thought it would be. I especially like the sliding USB plug which also charges the battery. Have never had to buy batteries in two years. Expandable memory is great. Interface with computer simple and easy. Sensitive built-in mics, good pickup. Ability to record in different MP3 modes give quality options. Just use for voice notes, but capable of much more. Always with me.

great product
it has everything to record meetings. But I used it not only for this. I also convert my old cassettes recording to mp3 conecting it to my (old) cassette player because it allows to record from another player device. Pros: Many options Easy of use line in recorder Can be use as mp3 player Rechargable battery but an standar AAA batery can be used Long life of battery Cons: The way of manage the directories. Ambar display No radio. I would recomend to buy a model with FM radio

worth the extra money over icd-px312
at least for me. after reading reviews of px312, here are reasons why i chose this over px312 for a little more money: 1. it has an internal usb outlet that SLIDES out, this is great because... 2. it can charge rechargable AAA batteries via usb (recorder only use ONE AAA as opposed to px312's two, and the battery that comes with the product is RECHARGABLE). combined with (1), this means you can conveniently charge your recorder while you transfer recording files to any usb-equipped computer, no need to buy a separate a charger. 3. able to edit existing or your own "scene" (recording area configuration), which isn't in px312. this means you can specify the bitrate, mic sensitivity, low cut filter, etc. that works best for you. it also has all the pluses of px312: easy of use, nice sound quality, etc. very happy with the decision so far.

Use it all the time
This little device makes recordings of amazing quality. The built-in microphone does a great job of picking up voices from people sitting around a table. While it has features I'll never use, it did come with software that makes it easy to edit the recordings, manage recording files in file folders, and generally make managing recordings much easier. It is small, charges from my laptop while I download the recordings, and always works. The controls are easy to use (record and stop). I can't think of any features I'd want that it doesn't have, but my uses are simple and have no need for production quality high-fidelity recordings. I just record people talking. It works fabulous for that.

Can be too handy for words
Lost the first voice recorder when it fell out of my jogging suit while walking along a ridiculous lonely stretch of streetway in Paso Robles. Cell phone gone too. This was a very annoying bummer. Lost the second one then bought another one but found the second one and gave it to this woman around the walkway from me. She didn't know what to do with it. These things can be handy for making verbal notes but can be invaluable in other ways as well. For me, one time involved the property manager's boss and the other included a county sheriff's deputy. Once downloaded to a computer, the audio quality is quite good. This latest model is improved in that the on/off and other switches are much more sensitive and responsive making it easier to use. I shall try like heck almighty not to lose this one.

Good product.
This is the first digital recorder I purchased so others may have better comparison reviews. Excellent product for clear recordings, sensitive microphone. I bought it to record conversations (another reviewer noted they used it to interview relatives about family history--great idea). Like the "voice only recording" that eliminates wasting recording time when there is no noise. Speaker was fairly clear (I normally use headphones anyway). Very easy to transfer files to and from my laptop. Many Features I don't really use, but others may. Easy to charge with "slide-out" USB.

Totally Satisfied!
Very pleased with this recorder. I had an older Sony from about 9 years ago, one of the first digital, but no way to download. This one is a nice upgrade. Great sound and recording ability, tons more Memory-4GB internal with ability to use a micro SD card. "Plug and Play" with the built in USB to download recordings right to the computer without software. Buttons are intuitive better design than my old one. Came with software but haven't played with that yet.
