Does it get your patio floor wet?

Well, if you operate it with the mist on high, then , yes, it will get your floor wet. However, you can adjust the amount of mist so that it is so fine it will evaporate before hitting the floor. (That how we usually operate it). You can even turn the mist off so that only the fan blows.

Will "hard water" affect the performance?

Hard water will certainly have an effect on the nozzles. To clean the nozzles; unscrew them and soak them in small bowl of vinegar for a few hours.

Can this be used in a greenhouse?

Absolutely, can be used in a greenhouse. I used it this past summer for my patio and for the kids to cool off with. Very portable.

Will this be safe and ok to stay outdoors, i will put it under my open arbor and is it complete as sold and only need a water hose connected?

yes it can be left outside that is where we keep ours and only needs the hose we tried to use in lanai but too wet for area screened in so out in pool area.
