Plylox clips are easy to install and remove with no damage to house. They do the job as promised. They come 20 per package (new) and usually require 4 per window (my windows are 52x36). Plywood can be different thickness - either bend clip for thinner (15/32 plywood) or rout out thicker plywood. Very good product.

This product is the real deal! I have used these in central Florida for over 20 years!

I first heard of thes tension clips from a rep at Lowes when I was looking for an expensive way to protect my windows in FL should a hurricane come to my area. I bought one bag and had my handyman cut the plywood for two windows to see if the clips worked as advertised and if could I hang them (retired 60ish female). They worked great, and my handyman had me order some for him and his mother's home as well. I realize nothing may work in a cat 5, but for most of what could happen, I feel prepared.

This worked at holding the plywood in the window pane. The problems I found though was you need exactly 1/2" plywood or you will end up chizzeling the plywood down for the clip or if its not thick enough, will have to nail/screw the clip to the wood. The other problem I had was my window frames weren't truly square and I had to remove and recut the plywood a few times to make it fit. All in all, not sure that it was any faster for me than screwing plywood to the wall, but if you have the right plywood and Windows with square or rectangular dementions than they work.

Hurricane Harvey was coming my way. I had this overnighted to have the boards up over the windows. They said there could be 80-90mph winds. When I got it, there was only 1 package of 20 clips instead of 2. I live in a small town and wasn't sure I would be able to find these at the hardware store. The product itself is really cool. What an elegant solution.

These clips are a great idea, however, the instructions that were included in my order say that they only work on windows (brick/stucco/wood) that are at least 2.5" deep. I did not see this in the product description on Amazon or the Plylox website. I have vinyl windows and casings that are only 1" deep. The clips have a serrated edge that pushes against the casing and will rip the vinyl. I think it would damage wood also but it should work great on brick. I am disappointed but I can't blame the clip. An accurate product description would have prevented this purchase.

I bought these for the use in hurricane protection--I live in Central Florida, and I finally decided to purchase 1/2" plywood sheathing for all windows and cut to each window specification allowing 1/4"; I even painted the plywood with exterior paint, to prevent delamination. The package contains twenty (20 clips) with instructions. I plan to coat the clips with polyurethane to prohibit rust, and keep them in a dry container and area. So far I have NOT used them! The price was great and was shipped to my home in 2 days!!
