The low and mids were horribly distorted when compared to the other..** A: It is possible that your speaker is blown but there is a simple test you can perform to be sure. Switch the speaker that sounds bad to the other side of the amplifier where the speaker sounded good. If that speaker now sounds good, your problem is with the amplifier. If the speaker still sounds distorted then it's defective. **Q: I'll be buying an onkyo 5.1 receiver that puts out 65w per channel. Is this enough or will I need an amp per channel for each speaker?** A: The FS-52 is a bass reflex system, which is quite an efficient design, so unless you have a very large listening area or like to drive the speakers to very high decibel levels, 65W should be enough. Having said that, most independent reviews of this speaker (as well as my own experience using an Onkyo 7.1 receiver delivering 100W per channel) indicate that they can handle -- and in fact thrive on -- being pushed a little harder. Since extra power in a receiver is relatively inexpensive, you might consider spending a bit more if you haven't already purchased. If you have, I think you'll still be very happy with the sonic quality of these speakers. **Q: Using two of these with Onkyo HT-R2295 reciever for listening music. Would you recommend to buy sub and two more speakers for 5.1 setup?** A: Only if you want terrific sound. I have different settings on my Sony receiver, anddepending on your source of music(pandora, streaming, or Bluetooth, some only use lpcm frequencies. So some music sounds better with a 5.1 setting, while other formats sound richer with 2.1 which sends an LFE (low frequency signal to Sub. Its about preference. But with these speakers I never overwork my amp and get plenty of volume without distortion. The center channel speaker is also awesome. Cheapest price is amazon.
