Would this be too small or harsh for the head? Having a hard time finding a decent boar bristle brush for the head.

This is a smaller brush, and it is a little stiffer than I would personally use on my head hair, but I did try it in my hair and it would work well, just stiffer than I would personally like. I hope this helps.

can you use beard butter and the brush?

Dear Debbie, thanks for asking your question. You can absolutely use the ZilberHaar Beard Brush to distribute beard butter and you probably have by now. You massage the beard butter into the beard and then use the boar bristle brush to distribute it throughout the beard. Make sure you rinse the beard brush with lukewarm water after use and let it try with boar bristles pointing down, so the pear wood can dry rather quickly and the wood stays protected from the water. This beard brush is very effective in distributing beard oils and beard balms and it should be giving your beard a good treat. Hope this helps.

How long are the bristles?
