Prolana Nail Optimizer, Extra Strong Strengthener Base Coat, 0.5 oz

I never review anything on Amazon, but felt I needed to with this. The FIRST nail strengthener that actually lasts and doesn’t peel off even through multiple days in the ocean and pool. The product goes on much thinner than others but seems much stronger. Highly recommend!

I have thin, peeling nails. I've tried a lot of products and have had mixed results. Before trying Prolana I used OPI Nail Envy. I had good results with that, but I wanted to bump it up a notch. I tried the Prolana. Before the Prolana, I had three nails on my dominant hand that simply would not respond to the OPI--thumb, pointer and middle fingers--the dominant fingers of that hand that see the most wear and tear on a day to day basis. Prolana almost immediately hardened those nails and whipped them into shape. All but the worst peel has been resolved after a month, and it is nicely sealed. But now the other seven fingernails have gone from weak and peeling to brittle. They snap off at the least offense. My plan is to continue to use the Prolana on three nails and used the OPI on the others. The OPI seems to create less brittleness while the Prolana is SERIOUS about strengthening. I will continue to give all my nails a weekly tip touch-up with the Prolana. This product MORE than satisfies its claims, plus the bottle is only 1/4 gone after dedicated use for one month with no signs of gumminess. A bargain!

I’ve been using this for three months now. My nails are still bendable/pliable and still break easily. But can’t give a full review until 6 months of use, when my nails have fully grown out. The first month, I used it exactly as the directions said, then started using it as my first coat under nail polish (this, then base, 2 coats of color and a top coat). My nails haven’t grown any faster then normal and, like I said, don’t seem any stronger. However, I still think it has its uses. So, how is it useful? It dries really fast, so I use it every other day over my polish to keep the tips from fading or the polish from chipping. I can put it on and know that it will be fully dry in less then ten minutes. Also, used it everyday for a month, then every other day for the last two months (again, not for nail strength, but to protect my polish) and I still have half a bottle, so it lasts a while. I wouldn’t use it alone as a base coat though. It is rather thin (hence why it dries fast) and won’t give a smooth surface for polish. So that’s why I use it first, then use a base coat on top of it. So, even though I am only giving it 3 stars now, since I know it doesn’t grow my nails faster, but don’t yet know if it has made my new growth stronger, I do plan on buying again, for the uses stated above. If, after the six month mark though, my nails are in the same condition as they are now, I will quit buying, as a $2 clear coat can do the same for me as this and I will knock my rating down to 1 star. If the new growth at the six month mark is noticeably different, I will put my rating up to 5 stars and continue buying. Time will tell. Edit to add: it’s been well over six months, more like 10, and I am still using this. My nails have healed, I don’t think they’re growing out any quicker, I am having to cut them down every couple weeks. I still use this as my basecoat, as well as my protective coat if I don’t have a color on, and I do use it still to protect if I do have a color on, So my nails last one week without any touchups. My favorite feature is still how quickly it dries! As well as how lightweight it is.

Item arrived when expected. Trying it out for the first time. I like that it doesn't have any harsh smells. The package does say it contains formaldehyde - not sure how I feel about that as it is a cancer, causing agent. I'm hoping the amount is so little, but I'm still on the fence about that.

Everyone’s nail health is different, but for me this product worked pretty well! I wear it as a base coat and then put my nail polish over top and I have noticed a HUGE improvement in my nail strength in the span of a few months. They say you can wear this as a top coat to your polish but I haven’t tried it out so I can’t speak to that. I used to wear acrylics (3 years straight!) and being stuck in quarantine, obviously my real nails were going to grow out and the acrylics were gonna go. Once the acrylics were gone, my real nails were literally paper thin, you could look at them and they’d rip. But after using this product for a few months, I have noticed an improvement. Wearing it alone is not good though. I noticed it chipped so easily and I gave up on it. So it worked better for me by wearing it as a base coat with my nail polish.

Se cae muy pronto, solo dura 3 o 4 días hay que retocar o quitar y volver a poner porque se descascaran.
