THE BEST HARD FLOOR VACUUM I FOUND
This Bissell hard floor vacuum is really all that people say it is. This is exactly what I was looking for. We moved into a new home that has 100% tile floors. With a Silver Lab 90 lb. dog we get a lot of hair and dirt tracked in. I almost wanted one of those super wide clothe brooms that you would see the janitor pushing down the school hallways...it was about 3 or 4 feet wide. However, that is too much work. I wanted something electric with suction. I wasn't concerned about the wet mopping part of cleaning our floors. My wife can do that with her proud swiffer. I just wanted to be able to quickly vacuum all the floors and pick up the hair and dry dirt. Sweeping by hand to much work and takes too long. Our normal carpet vacuum with rotating bristles does work OK, however it is not nearly as effective as this hard floor bagless stick vacuum (Bissell) I just bought and used. I tested this many times now. What I like is that it is lightweight. It is very light and easy to maneuver. There was one lady who wrote a review above this one. She talked about how she didnt like this vacuum (she liked the vacuum in general) because of its wedge base shape. It has a "V" shape at the bottom so that you can get around corners and table legs etc. She said she could not use it on a straight line or the straight part of a wall. However, I know what she is talking about, but this is NOT accurate. She needs to know that this vacuum contains suction points (that are super super strong suction) on the ends of the vacuum V base. So, if she just runs this vacuum down the straight wall in parallel with it...the side suctions will do all the work for you and suck up dirt right up against the wall. This is what a normal carpet vacuum can never reach. This vacuum was designed to do this and she must not realize it has side suction points. If you look at the sides of the V base vacuum you can see the slots where suction comes from. If you line the vacuum up against the wall and run it down nearly touching the wall it will grab all dust, dirt and hair easily. If you push the vacuum directly straight at a wall, obviously because it is V shaped it is not going to catch most of the dirt in front of it. However, that is not the right way to vacuum a wall anyway...bc it would take you forever. Just vacuum in parallel with the wall and bam, you are done. There isnt anything I dislike about this vaccum so far. Except I would have made it wider. It is not very wide and if it was 4-6 inches wider it would really speed up the vacuuming on hard floors. However, I am guessing they did not design it this way because anything larger would take away from its benefit of being able to get in and around furniture legs and corners and couches, etc. If too big or wide it would defeat its purpose. So, I am happy with it being less wide so that I can go around all the furniture legs and couches very easily. It sucks up everything in its bath. This has sped up my dirt and hair collection BIGTIME and is exactly what I was shopping for. I am super happy with it., It comes with only two parts needed to put together. You basically stick the stem of it into the base and then you attach the handle to the stem and its ready! I was vacuuming within minutes and loving it. It will suck up everything up to the size of about a quarter. This has suction holes that are only so big. So, the V shape pushes the dirt and hair into the middle and suction holes pick it up., This vacuum is NOT like a normal carpet vacuum. It is 100% specifically designed for hard floors tile or hardwood. It contains like a rubber squeegy type thing all across the bottom of it which is what sweeps or pushes all the dirt toward the inside of the V. It is easier to understand when you see it. Just buy it, you wont regret it. Some people complain about things because they complain about everything. For this price of $50 you cannot go wrong. It works very well for what its purpose is. It wasnt given to me for a free review either. This is as honest as it gets for a review and I hope it helps you decide.0 MB

Excellent sucking power and extremely easy and lightweight for elderly or disabled.
As a disabled person, I feel compelled to write this review. I simply LOVE this vacuum. I've had it for about 4 months and it is just simply amazing. 1) It was very easy to put together. 2) It is sucking up the 6" dust bunnies I had from dog shed. You need to make sure they are going into the "V" in the middle or they will get caught on the side strips. Sometimes they will still get sucked into the middle as you vacuum but if not, simply reach down and pull from sides, move to middle and let go. 3) It is easy to empty - One point. You need to put it into the vacuum STRAIGHT. I hold the side buttons until it's in, then release so I hear the click. 4) It's incredibly light weight. 5) It works extremely well on laminate and tile floors. 6) The side strips pick up the light dust so you need those to get a completely clean floor. 7) It gets the stuff close to the legs of tables, corners of couches, all the corner edges I couldn't get with a regular vacuum. 8) It's a bit tricky to get the hang of straight wall edges with a lot of debris, but if you hold it so one side of the "V" is going at an angle along the edge and tilt the vacuum a bit, it will work very well along straight edges. (I am unable to video and vacuum at the same time or I would post it.) 9) Great suction - It sucks up the dust, dust "bunnies", dirt, leaves, dry dog food bits, sand, almost everything dry, but I wouldn't use it on something wet and gooey. 10) It stores very well, taking up very little space in my hall closet, upright. 11) I like the length of the cord. Although I need to unplug it to do more than 20 ft area, any more cord would be difficult and cumbersome for me to handle. 12) I am not limited to only a few minutes of power as in a cordless vacuum. 13) The quality of this vacuum for the price is perfect. I didn't have to remove the foam piece someone posted about removing. I also don't vacuum daily as I physically cannot do that. The one thing that amazed me the most was the sand it sucked up. I live in Florida and our yard "dirt" is actually a composite of sandy stuff. It actually sucked up sand that I wasn't even able to sweep up. Every time I would sweep, there was always this one little line that wouldn't sweep into the dustpan. (And I wasn't going to pull out the 25 lb vacuum just for that little line.) VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER

Well Worth the Cost
I bought this vacuum back in February of 2014 and for the price have been pleasantly surprised. Pro.... I have a long coat German Shepherd which is considered one of the worst shedders out of nearly all dog breeds, GSDs actually have two coats of hair, a short coat and a long coat. My GSD's shedding was driving me insane with balls of hair floating across my floor again within hours of the last vacuuming. I was looking for something that was lightweight ( I have severe carpal tunnel syndrome) , easy to maneuver but did a good job on picking up the hair and I wanted something that not only I could vacuum with but also do a quick touch up vacuuming fast and easy. When I first pulled it out of the box, I admit I was skeptical, it seemed cheaply made to the point of feeling almost fragile but I did want lightweight so thought Id give it a chance and the mounds of hair floating around the floor seemed to be daring me. With the first swipe I could see it pulling the air into the debris collector, before I finished one room I had to empty the debris collector thrice and I was a little perturbed thinking it was a nuisance to have to keep emptying the chamber what I didnt realize was this little light weight vac was picking up hair my other vacuum had missed and every day after the hair picked up was less and less until now when i use it, it still picks up hair but I usually only have to empty the chamber once per room. Not only does it pick up hair but is very good at picking up fine particles of dust and small debris. I think its a stretch to call this a vacuum especially since it will not work at all on carpet, its more like an electric sweeper but with more suction power and a whole lot better at picking up pet hair. I also love that the filter is washable The cons.... If you are comparing it to a regular vacuum, you are going to think its cheap made but in comparison to sweepers that dont even do half as good a job, its a bargain. I wish the handle would go lower, I can use it under furniture like my coffee table but the handle does not go low enough for me to reach all the way under my bed which is 10 inches off the floor. The debris container takes a little getting use to, at first I had trouble putting it back in the vacuum but after a few uses I can now pop it back in with no problems. Its weight is not distributed well and it has a tendency to fall over easy which considering how lightweight its made, worries me it may accidentally get busted in the fall. The cord is too short for most average size rooms in a house, I cant vacuum one room without changing the outlet Im using. I wholeheartedly recommend this if you are like me and looking for something that works great for pet hair, is easy to use and lightweight but if you are looking for heavy duty vacuuming, you might want to look elsewhere. Be aware of just how short the cord actually is.

GET.THIS.SWEEPER!!!
If you have pets and you have hard floor surfaces where hair collects, this thing is a no-brainer!!!!!!!! I wanted to wait until I had used this for awhile to do a review that would actually be helpful. If you have the furry tumbleweeds that we get with two German Shepher/Akita mix dogs, then by all means, GET.THIS.SWEEPER. First, if you're not familiar with GSDs, they have FIVE hairs in each follicle. Five. And what seems like a trillion hair follices. Add to that the underlying Akita FUR. Are you picking up what I'm putting down? Serious amounts of hair, every day, all the time. We have a Dyson that has been going strong for over 8 years. Looooooove my Dyson. It's the bomb. But the motor is so strong, and blows directly toward the floor, it doesn't do as well with hard floors and this amount of hair. It literally blows some of it into the air. Not good. For carpets - amazeballs. Lots.of hard surfaces, not so much. When I read some of the reviews for this machine, I was a little skeptical, but it's a good price and I could return it if necessary. Not only would I not return it, I would gladly buy another in a heartbeat! It picks up every.single.hair. It has a little rubber guide on the bottom so nothing gets missed. The motor blows out the top so nothing gets blown around the floor and into the air. The filter??? Ooooooh the filter!! You should see the fine dust particles and everything when you take it out to clean it! This bad boy gets everything! What I took away from some comments in other reviews: * Definitely buy a replacement filter pack. It's well worth it so you can let one dry and have another one ready to go. Change it out and wash ONLY the foam sleeve every 4 or so uses, depending on how much hair and dust you find after said amount of uses. You'll be amazed at what you get in there and you'll want it to work optimally. * Definitely clean out the top maroon filter (the thing that looks like an upside-down funnel) with each use or at least every other use, and dump the container as often as well, again depending on what you're getting. * One review in particular said it didn't work well, and I believe this person also said their home had a lot of dog hair. This is not true at all. As long as you're cleaning it out each time you use it, it will work perfectly. Oh - and don't expect it to get everything after you've accumulated a week's worth of tumbleweeds - it's not going to last long. That's just common sense. But if you're not vacuuming every day or every other day and allowing serious accumulation, well then.........this sweeper not working for you is likely not your first issue. * Someone complained about the length of the cord. We have a sizeable house and I do have to unplug it and plug it into different outlets to get the entire first floor where the majority of the hard surfaces are located. This doesn't bother me. I feel that if they made it much longer, it would be a pain for people with apartments. It's not a biggie. Get an extension cord if you're that perplexed. Lol I am very particular about getting the hair off of the floor. To the point where our dogs our lucky I love them so much because it makes me THAT crazy. Yes, ok. Borderline OCD about the hair, if you must know. So if I love this sweeper, you will, too. :D

Love Love Love
I have to start out that I was very skeptical about purchasing this vacuum because of the price alone...you know the saying of you get what you pay for. I am SOOO Glad I bought this vacuum. I have 2 English Bulldogs who shed so bad and this vacuum work great! The suction is very strong and I was disgusted at how dirty my floor were. I love this vacuum so much I HIGHLY recommend it to those with hardwood or tile! You will never use your broom again! With a broom I would still have hair and dirt on the floor. I could take a black sock and see all the hair and dust on it right after I swept...with this vacuum i did the same thing after I vacuumed and had no hair what so ever on the sock. VERY STRONG suction, light, easy to use, GREAT price! I saw a bad review about this vacuum being cheap and the handle breaking. I have not had this problem and I have a toddler who has knocked it down and slammed it to the floor quite a few times and it is still going strong. Another bad review was about the hair getting stuck in the top filter...which i true but normally will only do that if the container i full and needs dumped out. It does hold a lot of dirt and hair. I like that I can see how much crap I have vacuumed up. I use it on my area rugs as well but it cannot be used on taller carpet. I guess it can but I think you may ruin the rubber on the bottom very fast. I just purchased another one of these for our office and I got one for my mom on xmas and she LOVES it. I NEVER use a broom anymore! I actually enjoy vacuuming with it lol and seeing how dirty my floors get. I have recommended this vacuum to so many and they purchased it as well and love it just as must as I do. I did find with some of the dog hair, it will stick or static cling to the container...and I just put a diaper wipe in the container to kinda get it to cling to that instead and it has worked wonders. I rarely have to do that but it does work.

Powerful but inconvenient in small spaces.
We have four small dogs and two cats, and our home is approximately half tile, half carpet. I've gone through quite a few hard floor vacuums over the years, and have yet to find one that's perfect. Last summer we found ourselves fostering six kittens temporarily, in addition to all of our other furry family members, and our little Bissel 3-in1 Vac was no match for the chaos. After two weeks of lugging out the big vacuum multiple times per day to clean up cat litter with the hose attachment, I knew we were in need of a better solution. Obviously we have a lot of pet hair, but most vacuums can handle this with ease. Where we've always ran into problems is with the heavier stuff, like dog food and cat litter. The Bissell PowerEdge Pet has NO PROBLEM with picking up dog food and cat litter! It's powerful! Its canister is plenty big, the vacuum is lightweight, the cord is long enough for the average-sized room, and it's easy to empty when necessary. The filters are easy to change, the "blower" part is in a decent spot, and I've had zero problems with hair clogging the device. I also love that it can stand on its own, so I never have to balance it against walls. But, despite all its pros, I absolutely hate this vacuum's shape. I've read other reviews that say it just takes time to get used to the triangular base, but I've vacuumed with this vacuum almost daily for nine months now and I just don't see it happening. Sure, it can pick up anything in its path. But its path is very limited. It's extremely awkward to maneuver around furniture legs or areas with curves. Getting behind toilets is impossible, which makes this vacuum worthless in our bathrooms. To vacuum corners, you have to run the vacuum along each wall separately, which is quite the feat if you have furniture, appliances, or doors along those walls. Would I purchase this vacuum again? Absolutely. I DO use it daily, and it's the only hard floor vacuum I've ever owned that didn't require at least three trips over the laundry room floor to pick up all the cat litter. While fostering the six kittens I mentioned earlier, we had a total of eight cats and four litter boxes. I was vacuuming two to three times a day, and this vacuum had ZERO issues (except for those pesky corners). It picks up dog food just as easily as it did on Day 1. It's made my life easier for sure! BUT, I still have to use a second vacuum for corners and tight spaces, and considering this is the only hard floor vacuum I've ever owned that didn't fit behind a toilet, I consider this a major flaw.

BEST PURCHASE IN YEARS!
I purchased my Bissell 6 or 7 months ago and have used it several times a week. It has been a great little machine for my purposes. Our house is an old farm house that is about 170 years old with heart pine floors that have many cracks and crevices that catch grit. As a farm/ranch family with one house dog and one house cat, we track in lots of dirt and also have pet hair to deal with. We needed something that would handle the load we create for a vacuum. This little machine is just what the doctor ordered! It does a great job of handling those cracks and crevices filled with sand and grit and is exceptional at getting the pet hair! I especially love the V shape of the head, because I can get up around the legs of furniture an up in corners, etc. There are a few things you need to know before purchasing one of these. 1.) You will need to clean the filters everytime you use it if you are dealing with lots of dirt and pet hair. Go ahead and purchase an extra filter when you purchase the vacuum. I take them out, bump the dust out of the pleated filter and wash out the foam filter that fits over the pleated filter and sit it aside to dry for 24 to 48 hours and use the extra filter set while that one dries. 2.) The pink plastic filter inside the canister will need to be rinsed occasionally, and it will need to have the pet hair cleaned off of it frequently if you are dealing with a lot of hair. When I vacuum the mud porch where we allow our cattle dogs to come in to sleep on cold nights, I have to stop and clean the hair off the pink filter before I can go on to the rest of the house. 3.) This little vac has lots of power, and you can feel the torque when you turn it on, but you can't vacuum fast when dealing with lots of sand and/or deep crevices. You have to take your time and do it right. 4.) I noticed some people interested to know if this vac will handle cat litter. It does a good job with the litter that our cat occasionally flings out of his litter box, but you might need to make a couple of passes if there is very much of it.

I own 2 GSDs, have hard wood floors and LOVE this vac!
EDIT: 7 years later this little vac just keeps working great! My house is small, less than 1,000 sq. ft., and I have one 115 lb pure bred GSD and one 60 lb mixed GSD who sheds as much as the pure bred dog... plus 4 cats... and red oak floors original to the home built in 1950... and I live in a dry, dusty area. That being said I use the broom several times a day to keep up with the dust, but let's face it it's impossible. I tried to use a regular vacuum cleaner, but the rotating brush probably knocked as much into the air as into the vacuum. I tried it low, high, just not a good choice. I've had this Bissell a few weeks now, and I use it once a day, and it's just wonderful. Unless I miss a day, I can get the floors clean in one go before having to dump the container. I know with this level of dust and pet hair I'll need to wash the filter at least every other week. I went two weeks and found the suction wasn't so great, pulled the filter (not the red plastic on top as I clean that every time I dump the canister... the filter is down below the canister) and saw it was clogged with dust. I rinsed it in my sink using the spray nozzle and let it dry a day in the window. Works like new. It may be that it filled that first week like that since my floors were so bad. it's been two weeks since then and still has good suction, so... Anyhow I'm really happy with this vac. Picks up clumps of dog hair, sewing room thread clippings, dust, cat litter, dirt, whatever. It's lightweight, just great. Since it's corded there are no batteries to run down, and the cord is pretty long, same length as my other vacuum cleaner. I highly recommend this product. As to the down side... it is a pain to have to rinse that filter, but I think all the bagless vacuums have that. I noticed that when the filter needs to be rinsed, the outside of the unit gets very dusty... which means bad news for my COPD... so I do try to keep tabs on the filter. The canister has to be emptied after every use, but that's just the level of hair and dust I'm dealing with. And I wish I were a better writer LOL

Great on hardwood and for cats
My husband and I aren't very tidy people, and really didn't realize how much of a mess our mostly white cats make until we replaced our thick light carpet with dark hand scraped hardwood... This vacuum doesn't get absolutely everything (the texture of our floors make it especially difficult), but it's pretty good for our non clean freak selves, is super light, and is such a good price. Definitely doesn't work well on our second floor carpet, but that's what the first vacuum is good for (it's such a chore to lug that thing around).

Excelente para mascotas
Si tu mascota suelta mucho pelo, esta es la aspiradora que necesitas. Funciona muy bien y casi no pesa, es cuestión de acostumbrarte a la forma en V que tiene.

A Must Buy
If you have hardwood floors, you need this little vacuum. Was really impressed by how well it sucked up cat fur, crumbs and other small debris. Loved the fact that it was light and compact. I didn’t have a problem with the V-shape design. It seemed to pool dirt into the vacuum. I’m not complaining that it has a cord, actually I would have liked it 3-4 feet longer. I also found it very loud.

Es buena pero...
Es buena pero no es tan efectiva con el pelo de nuestras mascotas, esperaba que las "arrancara" de los sillones y la alfombra pero no. Para quitar pelos es mejor un quita-pelusa.
