A Great Blender At a Great Price!
This thing is a powerhouse. I bought it primarily for smoothies, and it easily handles ice; just pulse it at short intervals until it's broken up, before you blend. The cyclonic action allows for even blending, but you may have to stop the machine, unplug, and use a silicone spatula to push thicker ingredients off the inside of the container for thicker things like guac or baby food. Be sure to add enough liquid to avoid straining the motor! It's easy to clean - either run a quick blend cycle with a half container of water and a drop of dish soap, or take it apart and wash the components separately. And it comes with a mini food processor attachment that's surprisingly powerful - I've made flour from oats, nut butters, and powdered sugar from granulated, pulsing in short bursts to avoid straining the motor. You can't go wrong with Hamilton Beach! Most of my appliance purchases have been theirs, and they LAST even under heavy use. An absolutely great buy.

Good Blender, With a Few Limitations
his blender was okay overall. It does a good job with smoothies and basic blending, and I like that it comes with the glass jar and mini chopper for small tasks. It’s convenient for everyday use and doesn’t take up much space. That said, it struggles a bit with harder ingredients and thicker blends, so it’s not something I’d rely on for heavy-duty blending. For the price and casual use, it works fine—but if you blend frozen or dense ingredients often, you may want something more powerful. Good value, just not perfect.

Lengthy but good review
I don't normally take the time to write product reviews, but because I'm so impressed with this blender, I'm going to do it. First off let me just say I'm a every day mom. I've never been a barista, or used any fancy specialty blender of any sort. I can't compare this to something like that. What I can say is this blender is AMAZING!!! I bought it to start making my own blended coffees and smoothies at home. I specifically chose this one because of the additional chopping attachment because we have rather large ice cubes, and I thought I would need to use that first to grind them up a bit. I was wrong. This blender does exactly what a blender is supposed to do. It blends all of it's contents into a nice smooth consistency without leaving behind those big ice chunks I was worried about. A big A+ as far as I'm concerned because I absolutely hate trying to drink my blended coffee when there's huge chunks of ice that are constantly getting stuck in my straw. The other bonus is speed. In my opinion this blender is quick. (To mean this also gives it an extra bonus for noise because it's not running do long.) My coffees have been running right around 10 - 15 seconds from start to finish to blend. Some may say "whatever", but this is a big deal for me if I'm in a hurry. I don't want to be stopping at the coffee shops because it's $6.50 every time I do. If I can make my own at home super quick it costs me less than a dollar. Plus, at home I can customize it exactly how I want it. Long story short, BUY THIS BLENDER!! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!! 😊😊

Died the 2nd day of use, filled my kitchen with burnt rubber smell
I seriously wanted to love this product, but after the second use I had to return it. I decided to purchase this blender after reading the positive reviews here as well from video reviews I've seen. The price on this blender motivated to purchase it, whereas it should have made me think twice about it because in my case, I got what I paid for. I loved it the first time I used it, worked completely well for some things. The chopper itself was ok, not the best on chopping onions, or anything big. You actually have to chop large onions or anything you want to place in there into small sections in order for it to fit in the chopping bowl/container, which is the size of a large coffee mug. I had to chop the onions small enough to fit through a toilet paper roll (probably smaller than that) in order for them to reach the blades. The effort to actually use the chopper defeated the purpose of using it, it was better and faster to do it the old fashion way. The most irritating part was when using the chopper is that the blades would would move the onion pieces upwards and away from the blades and you have to constantly push down the onions to the bottom of the Chopper bowl/container. After the second day of use, I used it to make smoothies in the morning, turned out great. Later in the day I used it to make salsa, it was working well for the first 5 minutes and then smoke was coming out of the base, I unplugged it immediately fearing that a fire would start which gladly it didn't but the smell of burnt rubber filled my kitchen. The blender died immediately after that, it no longer wants to turn on. Rest in peace Blenda (the name I gave it) There's some humor to this story, my salsa killed my blender. Haha. Could be possible I got a dud. It could have been a great blender. So buyer beware, be careful when using it what happen to me could happen to you.

Not a smoothie blender…
Do not believe the hype, my friends, I implore you! I fell for the 10,000 five star reviews and purchased one of these today… Upon unboxing, I was really thrilled. It looks like a fairly high-quality product, has a nice weight to it, the food processing aspect is a nice plus, the main 40 ounce pitcher is made of a nice thick glass… the lid for that pitcher on the other hand, is a very flimsy piece of thin plastic, on par with those disposable plastic lids, you use to keep an open can of cat food fresh. Trust me, I’m not over exaggerating. When I first saw it, I thought it was a piece of, packing material to keep dust out, I went back into the box looking for the actual lid, only to come up empty-handed. The lid is a really important aspect to blending, it should be a durable, thick lid, with an opening large enough to put a mixing stick into… This is a big fail. Not a dealbreaker, but a really unfortunate aspect to the blender. In my opinion, the true test of a blenders prowess and performance, is if you can actually make berry smoothies. Smoothies are supposed to be smooth… They’re not supposed to have chunks in them, they’re not supposed to have seeds in them… This is not a smoothie blender. It’s a regular old department store blender. It’s not a bad blender, but it is not a great blender either. I cannot stress this enough, because I’ve seen a lot of these five star reviews boast how great this thing is at making smoothies, there’s even a review that says somebody blended up Chia seeds in a smoothie… No, you didn’t, stop lying. What is it about these people who feel compelled to lie in favor of these giant corporations? Did they pay you? What’s going on here? Anyway, I had high hopes that I wasn’t going to need to shell out three or $400 for the Vitamix, and while I’m not going to give up just yet, this is unfortunately not the answer to my prayers. I will be returning this, and I also cannot really recommend this. I’m sure there are other blenders that do the same thing that this thing does with a better lid.
