Incredible product!
100% better than the Dohm product also sold on Amazon. Definitely 100% better than the apps and box fan I was using. The exterior sound is still there but it is muted enough that 1) I don’t have to wear earplugs 2) I don’t have difficulty falling or staying asleep. These, 3 - 1 very expensive and 2 very reasonable, were purchased by my wife to help with our sleep. I am very glad she did as the 2 inexpensive ones are incredible!

A lifesaver for apartment living! Small, but mighty
We've had this for about three weeks now, and ordered it after losing some nights of sleep to the noises of our apartment building. Our upstairs neighbor has a toddler who is up crying at least once a night, and we hear sirens that go by our building several times each night. This thing drowns them all out! A few things about it: * It only makes one noise (a whirring-like one), which I hadn't quite paid attention to when I ordered it. (I just ordered it because it had such great reviews.) I had been hoping that it would have more noise options, but I actually do like the one it has. * The volume control is great, and it gives you the ability to make this as loud or as quiet as you need. * The tone control also is nice since it allows you to adjust the tone to the level that fits you best. * It has a small footprint, which is great. I've been keeping it on top of our large alarm clock/speaker system, and it works great. Even if it has to sit behind a lamp or something else, it puts out enough sound that you'll easily hear it. This thing is small, but mighty!

Can be adjusted within the color range of white noise sound to meet one's needs
I've had experience with a few different machines including Marpac, Homedics, and HPI. What I am most pleased with about this machine is that it can be adjusted within the color range of white noise sound to meet one's needs. In my case I've found I use more brown or deep noise for a drone-like background noise that is appealing to the nervous system at rest, parasympathetic. If there is an increase in activity outside of my treatment room I can adjust it to have a higher pitch that works as a reminder to shhh, be quiet. For best masking of noise pollution (street traffic, waiting area) I've been using the following setup: this LectroSound on the deepest setting inside the treatment room with a fan and ambient music, and the Homedics higher pitched machine in the waiting area paired with a fan. It's nearly magic!

The PERFECTED and SIMPLIFIED white/brown/pink noise machine!!
I’ve only had this two days and it is already a favorite of mine. Comparing to my original Dohm fan-based white noise machine, this guy is just as loud, but offers more versatility in terms of range (pink to brown noise , whatever you may call it) The noise is amazing at drowning out those still awake in the house, and sound is impressively loud and deep for its relatively small size. The best part for me is that it is digital (with no moving parts and fans dying with age and pulling in dust), yet still has a “clicking” physical switch that is an absolute requirement for me: as it is most simple to AUTOMATE... and with a cheapy Alexa Wifi wall plug you can find for $10 or less... When it’s time for bed, you just want to say “Alexa, goodnight” and have the lights go off, ceiling fan turn on low, white noise machine come on” etc . Technology is supposed to be LESS complicated , so I prefer LESS settings and buttons and things to mess with, in order to get everything just right so i can actually relax and not think about anything else! This thing is well priced and beats the expensive competition. I almost bought another fan based one like a Dohm-a**. Ha. Alexa, Goodnight !

Life Saver for Downtown Living or Noisy Apartments
I lived in a major downtown for about 3 years and used this every single night, it is a life saver! The apartment building was near a hospital and busy road so there was a lot of noise at night that was keeping me awake despite being on the top floor of the building. No problems sleeping after this arrived! I used it for years and had no issues. It is durable and has a calming classic white noise sound. You can adjust the volume and pitch which is a really nice feature and it is lightweight. A little big for traveling, would rather use a phone app in that case, but this is perfect for an apartment or home.

Great tone adjustment and no loop but uselessly quiet
I've bought 3 of these now over the course of 4 months, the last if which I'll be returning. First one was far too quiet to help my newborn twins sleep so we used it as a backup at my parents. We ordered a second to keep in the smaller nursery thinking it would be better in a smaller space. Well this one was very loud, about where it should have been on the first. We figured the first was just a dud but we were out of return period so we just accepted it. After another month or so we decided to get another to keep in the bedroom. This one was even quieter than the first! The 2 quiet ones are absolutely useless for drowning out any amount of sound for babies. The good one, the super loud one, must be the defective one. And that's immensely disappointing because unlike 90% of sound machines out now, this one has NO discernable loop sound at all. Really just frustrating that I'll only be able to return just one of these.

Excellent sound quality
Customers seem to be writing about different devices; this review has to do with the USB-powered (not battery powered or rechargeable) white noise generator. The sound quality is good, with no detectable "looping" of recorded sound. The pitch and volume adjustments add much to the value of this unit. The range is significant. Tune them to your satisfaction. (I did not want the "nature" sounds etc, just straightforward white noise.) This is good replacement for fan noise. The only issue I would take with the design is that the cord comes directly out of the unit and ends in a USB plug. If the cord breaks, the unit would not work. It would be better if is just could use any USB cord. In any case, after a few nights of use, I am a "fan." (Pun intended).

Great at start but didn’t last long unfortunately.
We REALLY loved this sound machine for the first month. The ability to fade between different noise sounds. Unfortunately, just after the return window closed, the volume dial stopped working. There are several volumes at which the sound just stops working and the maximum volume is significantly lower than it was when we first purchased the machine (we can hear a lot more background noise when it’s on than we could at first).
