The Musclechuck assembly gives you easy access when changing cutters and eliminates the cumbersome use of wrenches. Along with it's superior grip, it also gives you some extra length when using router plates (approx. 1/2") or a router table so the full length of the cutter can be used. Consequently, because of it's extreme ease of use, no more dropped or damaged cutters or frustration will result when changing tools. The body of the new Musclechuck assembly is slotted in such a way that allows the tool shank to be held circumferentially, when the cap screw is tightened. In the past most quick change chucks relied on one or more cams to retain the tool shank. I have only used it for a few weeks but so far, it has met my expectations. Some advertising I have seen (not from MuscleChuck) says this part number will not work with the 892 router but that has not been my experience. The instructions explain how to balance the chuck but I just installed and tested it and I am not getting any unexpected vibration or reduced cut quality compared to the PC collets. The sound at high speed is different but that is to be expected because the shape is different. I mostly use it with a 1/2" to 1/4" shank adapter and it has worked out fine. I frequently use it with 1/16" 2 flute and "O" flute straight bits for fine details and I have not yet broken one nor have I experienced any run-out problems. The whole idea of this device is to make bit changes quicker and easier. That is very important when you are cutting a project that requires 3 or 4 bit changes. This chuck makes bit changes much easier. If i experience any problems I will edit this review accordingly but so far, it is 5 stars and highly recommended. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No More Wrenches Slipping Off the Collet Nut *by D***E on Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2014* I installed this on my Porter Cable 690, which usually runs a D handle base. Before, bit changes required flopping the router on its side and being careful to hold the bottom wrench just right, as you cranked the top wrench in the opposite direction. Often, the bottom wrench slipped toward the motor, slipping off the nut.I was thinking of modifying one of my wrenches by welding something to it to hold it off the motor and in place on the collet nut. With the MuscleChuck, bit changes are now just just a quick twist of an Allen wrench away.Running the MuscleChuck, I notice no vibration. Had I experienced any, directions are included to correct it.Just for reference, I bought a set of T handles from a "freight" store for about the price many are charging just for one T handle wrench. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing! *by R***N on Reviewed in the United States on December 25, 2014* I run a Techno CNC with Porter Cable router and needed a fast change chuck after banging my knuckles with two wrench process. The mechanics of the MuscleChuck are superb. No Vibrations. It should be pointed out that MucscleChuck requires very tight tolerance shanks on the tool bit....497 inch to around .505" for my 1/2" tooling...., so if there are any dings on the toolbit shaft that cause a high spot they will need to be filed down to fit into MuscleChuck. Cheap adapter bushings form MLCS don't work also....I updated these to Whiteside adapter bushings and all is now well. The internal diameter precision of MuscleChuck is so keen that bits make a sucking pop when extracted.
