Nice mini system with excellent sound !
The Onkyo CS-265 mini Hi-fi CD Bluetooth Stereo System: If you are in need for a smaller, good quality, great sounding stereo unit, then this is a good choice! It's small and compact in size, looks good, seems to be made very good, and sounds great! The Bluetooth works great. The radio works great and picks up stations really well. The USB port works great. The CD player works great! And these days it's becoming harder and harder to find a mini system that actually sounds good and has all these features. Plus the CD player so far has been working really good , unlike most of the other cheaper CD systems out there now days that seem to be so cheaply made and always end up breaking quickly or just don't work! Just cause everything is going to mp3 files and stuff doesn't mean that they should stop making CD players that work. Some people as is me, still buy and collect the actual CD albums. Plus this system just sounds so nice and clear. And I have noticed that it is hard to find a halfway good sounding little system any more, especially one that has a CD player! But anyways this mini unit is a great buy. It sounds great for the size and the size of the speakers. Clear mids, Highs, and nice lows. Now don't expect to have hard pounding lows, because there is not a sub with this system. But the bass does sound pretty good. All in all I feel that this mini stereo system is of great quality and sound. Yes it's a little more expensive, but if you want whatever you are listening to to sound good, then it is worth the price. I have owned this unit for probably about 6 months now and so far haven't had any issues with it. And I use this for atleast four hours almost every day. I DO recommend this item. I'm very pleased with this purchase. I will update if I ever have any problems with it in the future.

Great size, functionality and sound quality
I am liking this mini system very much. After suffering a major water leak in my home while we were on vacation, necessitating the interior of my home to be rebuilt over a 6 month period, the contractors either lost or stole my component stereo system that I’ve owned since the late 70s and that was still sounding fantastic. In my haste to replace it, I bought a lesser expensive all in one system with record turntable that turned out to be cheap Chinese crap with an absolutely horrible sound. So, back to doing some research, and I settled on this Onkyo system. Onkyo is a name that meant quality back in the day. I have to say, I am very happy with this system’s size, functionality, and sound quality. I added a quality turntable that plugs right into the Onkyo’s aux input in the rear, and it all works seamlessly through the Onkyo’s remote. Yes, the main unit’s button controls are tiny and on the top front edge of the unit, and since my unit is on a shelf in an audio cabinet, they can be difficult to see so we are dependent on keeping that remote handy. I’d like to add that all things considered, it’s quite a good value for all the features and functions and build quality that you get. The audio choices nowadays aren’t what they were back in the day. Now, your choices seem limited to spending 1-2 thousand $$ for a high end component system, or $125 for Chinese crap that is difficult to use and sounds horrible and that you will immediately throw in the trash like I did. This Onkyo system is a good choice.

this is an excellent solution. The Onkyo CS-265B is like any standard ...
If you're looking for a simple setup that strays away from some of the more expensive, more elaborate wifi systems that are beginning to come out, this is an excellent solution. The Onkyo CS-265B is like any standard receiver / speaker setup in this price range. The casing of the receiver is make out of a high-gloss plastic surround and matte finish top, where the vent is located near the back. The unit itself is not very wide, but it is long, and the AC cord (as another reviewer mentioned) juts straight out the back when plugged up. The speakers are fully surrounded in the high gloss black which, in my opinion, works against them; the grille in the front, like most bookshelf speakers, are minimalistic and flat finished. While the glossy finish isn't so bad, it certainly makes you self-conscious when handling them with bare hands when setting up / mounting. Suffice it to say, they retain and show fingerprints like a boss. Nevertheless, aesthetics aside, this unit is solid. The CD player uses a tray-loading mechanism, so I wouldn't necessarily trust it with long-term regular use. However, I only use it once ever couple of weeks, when I want to pop in something that I neither have on vinyl nor in my iPod. On that note, the Bluetooth syncing seems very solid and reliable. As well, when I have friends over and they want to sync up their devices, they can just hold the Bluetooth button on the remote, sync their device, and go. There hasn't been any need for codes as of yet on my end, though in the instruction booklet, it does say some devices require inputting a code. Either way, the sync holds up well over several hours without losing connection, even from several dozen feet away. Now for the important part: the sound quality. The two speakers I have to compare currently in this house is a set of Logitech Z-2300 and Bose Companion II Series III, both of which are computer speakers, and the former is a 2.1 setup (with a subwoofer). As an added note, I am no audiophile, so I can't give you the whole frequency breakdown and etc. What I can say is that when compared with both the Bose speakers and the THX-certified sattelites of the Logitech set, these Onkyo speakers hold up very, very well. Bass is full-bodied, mid-range is rich, and treble is crisp and clear – not a bit tinny. Of course, it is a 2.0 setup, so the bass isn't wall-thumping. However, it is there – you can both hear it and feel it just enough to make listening a pleasure, even when coming from a subwoofer setup. I'm certainly happy with this product. Admittedly, the plastic housing of the receiver feels dangerously flimsy, like you wouldn't want to transport it without precaution (e.g. if I were to move, the receiver would get packed in some packing peanuts or wrapped in a blanket to move). The speakers are solid, just not a fan of that high-gloss finish. Overall, this is a good product for a decent price. Give it some consideration if you're not ready to shell out for beastly setups like the Sonos or Peachtree lineups.

when it comes to small/micro hifi system there aren't that many choices. I did my research and Onkyo was one of the best in my price range. Sure there are better system but they are in the upwards of $500.00. the overall look is nice. black piano finish is great, goes with virtually everything. very simplistic and easy to use. remote has all the functions that are available from the system. sound is pretty good for such a small unit. cd, fm radio, usb and Bluetooth all work flawlessly so far. Happy with the seller as well. item was shipped several hrs from the time I ordered it. arrived well packed no damage and on time. would recommend this system as well as the seller

I've now used the stereo for one month. I only use it to listen to FM which I find very good. Volume is also very good and no distortion at medium volume. I owned a Sony microsystem and found it inferior to this one. Much better sound than of the Sony.
