Men's Slim Sweatproof Undershirt, Odor & Sweat Blocking, Rayon, V-Neck

I spent a fair amount of time looking into the Thompson Tee before making this purchase, I almost bought directly from their website but the most common complaint is that shipping is a nightmare. Ordering through Amazon meant paying a little more, but the tradeoff is that I got it the same day because of Prime and how early I placed my order. I run hot, always have. So wearing dress shirts in the summer is always a risk, but I tested this shirt on a 91-degree day in NYC and let me tell ya, it worked like a charm. I wore this for approximately 4 hours, I spent a fair amount of that time rushing around by foot, in direct sunlight. As soon as I got home, I went right to a mirror and checked, not a single damp spot anywhere to be found. The second time I wore it, temperature conditions were similar, a little cooler but fairly humid out. I wore it for approximately 10 hours and still, no sweat marks on my shirt. As for the fit; this is meant to be snug on your body as shown in the photo for the product. It takes some time to get used to but wasn't uncomfortable to wear. My one complaint (if it can even be considered one) is that I wish the v-neck was a little deeper. Currently, if you unbutton more than the top, the shirt will show. Minor but something to consider if you prefer to unbutton two or even three buttons. A simple solution would be to either change the current cut of the V so it is at least an inch deeper or to offer this in a deep v-neck. The price is a bit steep for an undershirt but it works for me and was worth the money invested. I will definitely be purchasing a few more of these but will most likely wait to see how this purchase holds up after a few washes. PS Read the care instructions carefully, this is an item that can't be bleached.

I've always sweated way more than the average person. In the summer, the pits of my shirts look like I'm working out even though I'm just sitting still. And it looks horrible. I usually keep my sport jacket on all the time, even when I'm hot - just so I can hide the armpits. When I got the shirt, I admit it fit tight, but I was okay with that because it is underneath the shirt I wear. The pads feel weird at first, but you get used to it. I could feel the pits were wet mid day and it was uncomfortable, BUT I did NOT see a the sweaty pits under the arms! To me that is a HUGE as now I can take off my sport jacket and walk around the office without being embarrassed of huge sweaty pits. I think it is a bit pricey but my comfort level at work is much better so I guess its worth the price. I'm going to buy one for every day of the week.

So I sweat A LOT. I will sweat through my shirts sitting in an air conditioned room wearing prescription strength antiperspirant. It’s absurd. I tried everything up to and including shaving my pits. I’ve ruined so many good shirts. There’s so much of my wardrobe I wouldn’t even wear because the stains were too obvious. It finally dawned on me (after years) there has to be an explicitly sweat proof undershirt. Looked up such shirts, read a review for this that said “This is the one you want.” I got one and tried it today. I wore it with no antiperspirant under a shirt I hadn’t worn in years because it is a pastel color that makes pit stain screamingly obvious, and did so in 95 degree heat. Not a drop of sweat made it through. Beyond that, I felt dry. It works perfectly. The pads soak up all moisture and the rest of the material breathes beautifully. It’s very form-fitting, so it doesn’t look bull at all. I wish I had this in high school, college, and pretty much every year of my life after puberty. I just bought three more. I’ll be wearing these daily for the rest of my life. Rare is it I am so pleased with a product.

Very tight fitting, good for under a button down. Shirt has never allowed sweat to show through in armpit area, as advertised. Thing to know though, is from the way the shirt accomplishes this, your armpits will always be more hot wearing this compared to a regular undershirt, since the material is doubled or tripled up in there. There is intimate contact between your armpit skin and the shirt - which means no room for airflow, and is why you will likely accumulate sweat wearing this. This is an excellent choice if you KNOW you will sweat (nerves, heat, etc). In other scenarios, you may be more comfortable with a traditional cotton shirt. Having soaked armpits in this shirt is uncomfortable; but not as bad as cotton undershirt soaked armpits, with button down armpits also soaked.

This shirt is beyond exceptional. If you are looking for a sweat resistant undershirt that stands up to any level of underarm sweat there is nothing better. I have worked 10 hour shifts in hot kitchen environments and this shirt takes it and stays dry. It's color will eventually wear out in 6+ months but will still remain absorbent in that time and beyond. I wear one of these undershirts every day and wouldn't leave the house without it if you suffer from underarm hyperhydrosis the same way that i do. It's pricey, but if you face sweating problems like I do it will become an essential part of you wardrobe. Tariffs have increased it's price dramatically but it's still essential wearing if you sweat like i do. $45 for a single T-shirt hurts but if you've looked this far for a solution you won't regret buying this.

Holy crap, where have you been all my life. When I was a tween and soaking through the armpits of my shirts in 50° weather (yeas, I sweat that much), I would have killed for a product like this. I love it so much I bought 5 for every day of the work week and it hasn't failed me yet. It didn't fail me when I was shaking my tail feather on the dance floor of a wedding, working up a massive soak. It hasn't failed me in the heat wearing a full suit when I'm visiting with a client. I've tried putting this thing through the paces, and everyone I know will tell you that my pits can do that, but it's yet to fail me. I tell everyone I know about this under shirt. It truly is life changing and gives me so much more confidence, knowing I don't have to be self conscious about whether or not I've soaked the pits of my shirt. I do wish they could make a shorter sleeve cut so it fits better under my t-shirts, but that's just me and my wishful thinking. I will say that the first time I wore this, the armpits took a little getting used to, given the extra material in that area. But that was a hurdle I quickly jumped over. Also, this won't protect you from back or chest sweat any more/less than a regular undershirt. Combine this with one of those salt stick, natural, deodorants and I'm set. No more yellowing of the undershirts, no more sweaty smell, and no more pit stains.

Bought this after buying the "original fit" deep-v version. This is the one you want. Since Thompson has made no attempt to inform you that these are vastly different shirts, besides the stated difference of one being "original fit" and the other being "slim fit", I'll give you the skinny. The original fit shirt is 100% cotton, thick, and loose. Unless your overshirt is somewhat baggy, it will be obvious you're wearing an undershirt. Maybe this is your style, it is definitely not mine. IMO this could never be worn under a t-shirt. Also to note, size wise I'm right between a medium and a large (6'0", 175lbs, athletic build, like my clothes a bit more form fitting), so figured I'd go with a small to have it snug. After washing/drying it's not too loose, but I'd go with an extra small were I to do it over again. The slim fit shirt is made of a much thinner synthetic fabric that, as the description would imply, fits snugly against the body. As noted in the description, it's a far longer shirt than the original fit, which offers peace of mind that it won't come un-tucked. Because of my experience with the original fit, I ended up ordering an extra small, which is right on the border of being too small, fit wise. Could probably get away with a small, but in a situation like this too tight seems better than too loose. Definitely hides well under a button up, and I'll have to do a test to see if it would work under a t-shirt. In summation, the slim fit is like the version 2.0 compared to the original fit's version 1.0. They learned from the mistakes of the original fit and made the necessary improvements to have an all around better shirt. Will never buy an original fit again and will likely be stocking up on the slim fits.

I have a problem with serious underarm sweating. Like bad. I used to wear 3 undershirts a time. Or stuff paper towels under my arms and secure them with tape and I’d still sweat through. Nothing worked well. I was excited when I saw these shirts because finally someone understood what I deal with and had a solution. I’m a social guy but the sweating has seriously hampered how I behave, what I wear, and if i even go out. Thompson tee got the idea right, I just wish these shirts were more absorbent. By the time I get to about 11:30 AM I have sweat through the pads and sweat stains start to appear like any other day. Only solution I can think of is to buy another shirt and change halfway through the day. Which I may need to do. Overall, quality of construction is great, and I love the fit and feel of the slim fit shirt. I just wish their was a super absorbent shirt option? I don’t mind the feel of the pads or the fact that they stay a bit wet, I just want sweat to stop showing through. Maybe this is something these folks can work into their product line. Overall you guys are doing God’s work. Keep improving!

Fits tight enough so you can't see under a dress shirt, absorbs well - wouldn't have anything different.

Bought for a full day assessment centre job interview. As recommended I purchased 1 size down from my usual tshirt size and this was the correct choice. This undershirt should be skin tight yet still comfortable which it was. I'm somebody who has always suffered from hypohydrosis. I ALWAYS take a jacket or coat with me which I use to cover up sweat, and hide my embarrassment, but this ultimately makes the problem worse. For this job interview though, I had to wear a smart office shirt without a jacket (company dress code). Within 30 minutes I would usually have underarm sweat marks and back sweat showing through the shirt as large wet patches. With this undershirt on, absolutely NOTHING!! Dry throughout the entire day! As there is no padding on the back (just underarms), I worried that my back would still be vulnerable, however the 95% bamboo material did an excellent job of absorption, not allowing any moisture to break through to my outer officewear. To emphasise, this was in the U.K. on the hottest day in over 40 years (35°c), in an office block without air conditioning, doing team-building tasks that required physical hard work. After the team-building task, all candidates were sweating profusely from the face, including me, however I was one of the few without a mark on my shirt. This allowed me to stay calm and focus on the interview, without worrying about embarrising marks I would usually have had on my shirt. I did well at the interview and this product completely improved my confidence on the day. As someone that has uncontrollable sweat on even cold days, the fact this undershirt did its job in much hotter conditions and in a stressful situation, is nothing short of a miracle! After a short while of wearing the shirt, I didn't really notice I had it on; this is also why it's important that the undershirt is not a lose fit, it should be skin tight but not uncomfortable. The shirt is unnoticebale to others looking at you, there's nothing to suggest you are wearing anything other than an office shirt by itself. If the idea of wearing formal shirts and certain colours fills you with dread, give this a try. It's expensive yes, but if you suffer from hypohydrosis, it's a small price to pay to get your confidence back. I paid for this product myself and have written this review as an unbiased reaction to my experience with the undershirt.
