I bought this thinking, this was in 2 pieces, where you slide the dove tail slot into the slide and screw the plate onto the dove tail, since it came it a set of screws to screw into the dovetail mount. but its not. The whole plate slides into the mount on your slide. Very hard to install. Review: This is a good option though - Got this for mounting Trijicon RMR on my Glock17. It's user installable if you have the right tools. I did not. Took to my local range and the standard tool they had for rear sight adjustment didn't have a deep enough throat to slide this plate into the dovetail, so I had to take it to a gunsmith. I wanted to get the slide machined, but the G17 slide was not quite wide enough. Larger caliber with a wider slide would allow for that though. This is a good option though. It raises the RMR up significantly and you can not see suppressor height sights in the lens. It is also very tight to get on and off and is too wide to take on and off with my rear sight tool.
