What are the materials used in this?

These placemats are made of woven ramie (a natural vegetable fiber). They are soft and flexible so can be rolled up easily for storage and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. I would not suggest machine washing as I think they would fall apart.

Do you find they slip around the table easily or stay in place?

I have mine on top of a clear plastic table protector and they stay in place pretty well. If you have a plate or bowl sitting on them they don't move at all. I also have another set in a different color on my breakfast bar and those do slip around a bit but they are on tile and everything slips on that. They are pretty though.. they have gold threads running through them.

Does it have orange in it

The ones I got didn’t have orange. I got the blue ones

The "rust red" place mats look brown. What does the color look like in real life?

I ordered “grey” mats....this to me looks brown....not a red.
