Simple yet direct instructions were sufficient. Second, don't expect an upper echelon product--you get what you pay for, a more than capable office chair. The reason for the one-star deduction is that the seat cushion is pretty hard to be technically called a "cushion." I think a cheap one will do the trick. but it would be nice not to buy accessories for the chair right off the bat.(--UPDATE: I actually found a few more controls, one of which was a knob on the bottom of the seat that made a huge difference in comfort. I still say you get what you pay for, but an excellent office chair if you have basic needs, changing my rating from four to five stars) Less of an issue, the arm rests aren't padded either, and have a hard plastic feel to them. Fine for what I'm using it for, but if you want more frills it'll cost a bit more.
