**Q: Can this be used to hide/fill the grain on oak cabinets before painting?**
A: Absolutely. I'm a furniture maker, and I've used it to achieve mirror-smooth finish on open grain woods like red oak and swamp ash. This has become a go-to product in my shop for repairing dings, filling holes/imperfections, etc. Be aware that deep grain woods will require more than one application to fully hide the grain. However, the cure time is so quick, it's not really a problem. There are also a number of YouTube videos available with demonstrations and tips for this product. Many on the company's website.

**Q: Is this product water resistant?**
A: Yes, it's a resin. But depending on the application, you'll most likely apply a finish over it.

**Q: Can I apply Solarez grain sealer over paint?**
A: This product is only intended to be used as a base coat to fill and seal grain pores before applying finishes such as lacquer or paint.

**Q: What's the difference between this and the regular uv solarez sealer? the description for each product is the same but regular costs about 40% less**
A: Solarez makes three different grain fillers with different resin bases: vinyl, polyester and lacquer. Each has different benefits, depending on your project.

Awesome product. What I really like is that you can control the "sheen" depending on how many coats you add and how you sand/finish the topcoat. If I had one thing to notice is that, if you do not need the product in a hurry, perhaps it is better if you order directly from the manufacturer. Why? PRICE! the same Pint (16oz) is about $15 cheaper if you order directly from Solarez. Of course, you have to factor shipping cost considering the amazon "prime" shipping. But still for the $$ you save ordering directly from Solarez, it seems you can purchase more product for the money. Notwithstanding, it same plenty of time when you consider using this product against the typical process of using grain sealers, then fillers, then top coats, etc., etc. If the finish proves to be durable, I am not sure I will go back to my previous methods of finishing wood. :))
