This is a direct bolt-on item that replaces the factory rear suspension linkage. Included are a pair of Soupy’s Adjustable Lowering Links, spacers, new hardware and usage instructions. The longer spacers are used on the bottom mount, shorter on the top mount. These lowering links are not compatible with the center stand because of a clearance issue. Keep in mind that the motorcycle's frame will be closer to the ground and it may be impossible to lift the motorcycle onto the center stand because of the center stand's steeper angle after lowering. If you need a custom ride height, please contact us.These fully adjustable lowering links can transform the rear of the motorcycle to any height between factory and lowered 4 inches (100 mm). This is perfect for anyone who needs just a little more of their feet touching the ground at intersections and on slopes, or for that "lowered stance" look. To change ride height, simply turn the center hex adjuster. Our links are the same thickness as the stock links, which means the stock bolts and nuts are retained and the locking element of the nuts will be engaged. Made of steel, they have large, ½ inch diameter threads and are silver zinc coated for strength and corrosion resistance. We do not use aluminum threads.To install: Remove weight from rear of motorcycle, remove factory link mounting bolts, remove stock links and replace with Soupy’s Lowering Links, reinstall bolts, adjust to desired ride height, ride!Keep in mind that motorcycles lowered 1 inch or more should utilize our adjustable kickstand to maintain the required lean angle when parked. They used a small bike and that's when the fun began. First off they should have stated to take Venter stand off first. I did not so I had to remove my muffler to get one of the bolts out. Second was that they tell you not to adjust the links prior to installation because they are set at the same length. I recommend you put a Jack or lift under the bike to keep it at the current height before taking the old links off. I took the old links off and the bike dropped. I had to adjust soupys links all the way out to put them on. Then I worried that they were not the same length. I contacted soupy and they were prompt with there response saying to use a caliper to be sure each link was the same length. My links ended up a tad over seven inches. Ever price calipers that measure that long? Forget about it. I used a tape measure. Just got back on a 1003 mile ride and they are great. My feet reach the ground just right. I recommend the product but think things through before you start taking things apart.
