I purchased this product to lower the pH in our new hot tub because using a granulated acid sounded much safer and easier. I could not have been more wrong! #1 according to the directions, you are supposed to mix it with water before adding to the hot tub, so it's not easier or safer than liquid muriatic acid. #2 I added the recommended amount every single day, sometimes twice a day, and the pH kept getting higher by the day. I test the water twice a day right now, with an actual kit, not just strips, because I am determined to balance the water! #3 It's expensive compared to muriatic acid, especially since it doesn't work. I purchased a gallon of muriatic acid this week, and the pH and alkalinity are finally where they should be! I wasted an entire month of not really enjoying the hot tub and being frustrated with this product, as it definitely does not do what it should!
