Something about the roundness and the material meant that no matter how tight I laced the shoes, eventually they would come loose. The Lace King laces, I am happy to say, do not suffer from this defect. I tie my shoes once in the morning, and they remain tightly laced until such time as I choose to untie them. For shoelaces, in my opinion, there are no higher accolades. Additionally, they look clean and very bright. The length of the lace was exactly as advertised. They arrived promptly, and nicely packaged in a small plastic "test tube" with a metal screw-on cap. I'm certain the tube can be re-purposed to store something else in a useful manner. If you amortize the cost of the laces over their lifetime of use, they provide an excellent value. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Much better than flat laces! *by K***G on Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2019* I made these Vans Sk8-Hi shoes into roller skates for my outdoor cruising set up and the flat laces that come with the shoes ripped pretty quickly. They also did not feel that secure for use on a skate. I usually use waxed skate laces on my other skates but my friend recommended getting round laces instead for Vans skates. I found these and they are so much better for a shoe!!I feel more secure in my skates now and the laces are the perfect length. Online it says Vans use 140cm laces so I got the 137cm since that was the closest. The length is fine but I don’t use the top eyelet. It might be a bit short if you do go up all the way.The laces feel durable and they came in a neat little tube. We shall see how long they last but they feel nice and durable. The fibers seem a little more compact and tight than other round laces I’ve had on shoes and I like that. This is a little more than I would have liked to have spent on plain laces but they seem like they’re good quality so I’m not that bothered. I’d definitely recommend them! ### ⭐ not recommended - do not stay tied *by W***R on Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2019* They look nice but what good are shoelaces that do not stay tied. These replaced shoelaces in shoes for my 7 year old. They were constantly untied so I would remind him to tie his shoes. He kept complaining about these not staying tied. So I started tying them. They would still constantly come untied. So I started using double knots and still they would come untied. After 2 weeks they broke (see photo). The outer covering came off leaving just the inner core. We cut them out of his shoes and put the originals back in.
