This cushion did the trick. It is low profile so that it doesn't boost me too high and does, in fact, ease the tension in my lower half. I have another, higher profile seat cushion in my work chair, but that didn't work for the car. For anyone with limited mobility, be aware that all seat cushions made of rubbery or silicone material will not allow you to slide your legs around to enter or exit the car as they are a bit grippy.
