Works fine when plugged into USB, however the battery compartment is quite poorly made, initially when inserting 4 AA batteries I could not get the lamp to work, but on closer inspection a few of the contacts in the battery compartment don't quite touch the end of the battery terminals, thus resulting in the lamp not working.
