Barrington Hardwoods Walnut Lumber 3/4" x 4" (3/4" x 4" x 24") (2 Pcs)

I bought this wood to use on a project I built for my wife. Out of the box, the material was square on all sides with no cupping or warping. It was easy to work with and cut cleanly. Even though it was quite smooth to begin with, I sanded it using grits starting at 60 grit and progressing to 2000 grit sandpaper. After that, three coats of transparent stain followed by three coats of satin polyurethane gave it a glass-like finish. Since this was going to be used around food (it's a carrier for aluminum serving pans) for the interior surfaces, I omitted the aforementioned stain and poly and gave it three applications of a bee's wax/mineral oil compound. The final product came out great! For the value of the money, color and quality, I highly recommend this wood.

Company provides good quality

These are "OK". Not quite S4S.. they have some pretty rought faces with what looks like possible router sled marks from flattening?? They surface off just fine, but just go into it knowing you're gonna still be knocking off another 0.02 or so just to get them smooth.

The color of the woods was a little different than I expected, but that is not much of a surprise since I was looking at it on my computer. Anyway, the wood is good quality and very pretty.

I was actually a bit leery ordering these boards after reading some of the reviews. Mine were nice and straight and flat.

What can I say? It came as described.

One piece has a chipped corner while the other is warp & twisted. Given what I need these lumbers for, neither could be used. Will return
