Great, great value
This device is so handy. No pun intended. It really is. I bought it to help me solder, but it comes in useful for many other application. The 4 arms can be moved anywhere on the platform and when you move the arm, it stays where you put it. The only downside was that the teeth of the alligator clip can scratch surfaces to I added some electrical tap around them which solved the problem. Versatile and good price. Buy this.

Very well made, very helpful
These Helping Hands have proven a great addition to my workbench. If you do any soldering, I would definitely recommend. The plate is very sturdy and I have no cases where it was trying to tilt or flip over. The arms are very flexible, but still stiff enough to maintain their position. Additionally, the clips have protective rubber covers that prevent wire damage. I recently soldered 24 gauge coated wired with no issues.

Reasonably good product.
It's definitely much better than those traditional "helping hands" with multiple ball joints and thumbscrews - much easier to position the alligator clips exactly where you want them, and having four of them gives you far more placement options. The product I received was mostly as described. The "rubber protective cap" on the alligator clip jaws appears to be just heat-shrink tubing, and despite the claim that "you can take the cap off or on as grip needs", it doesn't appear that you can remove it without tearing it. Most of the photos for this product do show the tubing; the image that promises "8 extra rubber caps" shows actual rubber caps instead of the tubing I received. (I received no extra rubber caps, but did get one extra alligator clip that had the tubing installed on both jaws.) There is a blocky rubber cap for the free end that you squeeze to open the jaws, and that cap can be removed and replaced easily. Three of the four arms had very strong magnets to hold them to the base plate; the fourth (on one of the long arms) has a magnet much weaker than the others, and the arm will tip over easily even if gently nudged. I assume I just got a faulty one, and that most of them do not suffer from this issue. I took a star off for the weak magnet, but other than that am pretty happy with it.

This just works!
This thing came mostly like it was advertised, except for the rubber clamp sleeves. It's like another buyer has mentioned, it's more like heat shrink then rubber. Magnets were strong, clamps held well, arms held there position, base is sturdy with four roound rubber feet, and I even got an extra clamp. My stand had a small scratch but I decided not to minus a star for that since I will rough it up soon anyways. Toolour, I would like to see a magnifying glass accessory. With an emphasis on the lens. I can care less if it has a light or not.

Excellent Quality
Excellent product and great quality. It works very well. The clips are high quality and the jaws don't suffer side to side twist misalignment like cheaper alligator clips do. The base is heavy and sturdy. I like the blue color. It came with scuffs and scratches on it, but it still looks great.

Great Product, Excellent Price!
Very pleased with the quality. Strength of the magnets is nice and the weight of the base is perfect for my use. I wish there was a way of purchasing the 4 “posts” for holding pcb’s, separately (as seen in another of package offerings), but other than that, great product and I would buy again!

These are the best helping hands money can buy
I got these because of the magnetic arms and it was coming to about 20 dollars for one if I was to buy them individually on Amazon. This gave me more for my money. The arms have really strong magnetic bases that I can use to place them on anything that has a metal base. I use them mainly on my PCB holder but it comes with a really handy solid steel (i think) base. It is a bit heavy for my liking but I have used it when I really need the weight. Also, it is has a really nice scratch resistant coated paint so it is great. Also, the base of the magnetic clamps is designed to minimize scratches. The actually Alligator clip did not come attached so some assembly is required but it was easy, and I got an extra one, (not sure if that was intentional) but it is nice to have an extra clip in case u loose one. I use the extra one with a small magnetic as a 5th very low hand. Lastly, ALL 5, clips came with rubber gloves. It is like a really thick piece of heat shrink but they can't really come off so bear that in mind. They are really protective though. All in all a really high quality and durable product that I don't regret buying. Only thing I want now is a magnetic magnifying glass and light.

Magnets not holding well on two arms
The cone shaped bases of the flex metal arms contain disc magnets to stick the arms to the supplied metal plate base. On two of these arms the magnets are perfectly flush with the base of the cone but on the other two, the magnets are recessed inadvertently and thus do not contact the metal plate base and thus are holding rather weakly and do tend to fall over depending on work being done/held. The bottoms of the cones are filled with some type of solidified liquid plastic into which the magnets are embedded so it is impossible to reposition the disc magnets.
