The manual says to leave the coffee maker on unless not using it for 4 or more days, do people actually do this?

We have used Bunn Coffee Makers for over forty years. We drink coffee every morning. Unless we are going on vacation, we leave our reservoir on. (Not the warmer plate) If you turn the reservoir off, you will have to wait for it to bring the water in the tank up to temp, or you will have cold coffee. The point of owning a Bunn is having hot coffee readily available. Not possible if you turn it off.

What are the height and depth of the carafe?

The depth is 12.5 inches, height is 15 inches. Easiest and quick coffee brewing. I had a ninja, was great at first but had issues and ninja replaced my first one after a year and the second one worked well for a year and half. So I went back to Bunn. Hope this helps!

ready to buy a new Bunn. Bad reviews on the model chosen reference to the epoxy smells had this been resolved?

Bunn does all their quality control in the USA, so very unlikely that "stinky" systems would get released for sale. Also, Bunn has a marvelous reputation for selling $3000 commercial coffeemakers to restaurants; there's no way they'd jeopardize their reputation to get an extra $100 sale.

Can you fit your hand inside the carafe for easy cleaning?

I bought a sponge on a handle (basically dollar store so it was only one or two dollars.) The foam sponge is shaped like a big ball but can get into spaces smaller due to in being foam. You can find them in Dollar General (and possibly the Dollar Tree)It's amazing for getting into small spaces that your hand won't fit into. It's main to mostly clean out drinking glasses, but works very well for the carafe.
