Why do people continue to say it's not teflon-free when the manufacturer states pfoa-free nonstick aluminumcooking surface releases waffles smoothly?!

PFOA is a chemical used in the manufacturing process, but many companies will say "PFOA-free" to make you think it is also free of the other nonstick chemicals, like Teflon. PFOA-free does not automatically mean PTFE-free. PTFE (the molecule polytetrafluoroethylene) is the generic name for Teflon™. There are other brands of PTFE, too.. depending on the company. Teflon is owned by DuPont. I emailed Hamilton Beach about this model and they replied, "The Waffle Maker 26081 does not contain PTFE or PFOA in the copper nonstick coating."

Manufacturer: Please give detailed info about nonstick features (Teflon?). No details in listing or manual and customer service doesn’t respond.
