Like another reviewer, ours arrived in the mail in a flimsy envelope with a totally melted faux-ice pack. On 90+ degree day no less. And we are on the East Coast and Ohanyan's on the West Coast, so it had a very long trip in the USMail. Yet, given that Basterma was developed in the Old Country as a way to preserve meat, and the vacuum-sealed pack was still intact, I just threw it in the fridge. We had no health issues associated with its consumption. We will definitely buy this again and again, as their is no Armenian or Middle-Eastern market within 60-minute each way driving distance from our home, moreover, this is the best we've had in decades, AND IT IS SLICED. It doesn't get better than this. Review: Needs more spice - Great taste but needs a bit more spice to give it that edge it deserves.

Fresh, lean, excellent Ohanyan's Basturma, best brand for Basturma! Came nicely packaged with ice packs inside, and insulated.

One of the best Turkish pastirma

I went to Kaderi High School. I know how Kayseri Pastirma looks and taste more than most people.
I know first hand how this pruduct tastes like and looks like a real Kayseri pastırma. It is sliced into very thin letters that Kayseri pastırma selling store carve very thin slice pastırma by hand using a sharp knife. They don't use machines for slicing.
