Review: Great Book - I am really enjoying this book. It starts with some general information on colors, paints and other materials and tools and techniques, lots on techniques. Then it moves on to flowers grouping them by shape. There are tutorials sprinkled throughout. The next thing is a directory of all the flowers in the book grouped by color and listed by name and with a little photo. After you choose a flower you go to its listing. They are organized by color and alphabetically . Which shape grouping is also included. There is a little box at the edge of the page that tells you what colors you need. There are step by step (usually 3 or 4) instructions with pictures. Between colors are beautiful examples of floral watercolor paintings. While not every flower could be included; there is enough here for you to use what is provided to figure out how to paint most any that are not in the book. You could also use this for other media like colored pencil. Review: This book is great - This is a little handy binder book with illustrations on how to paint and the colors used. It demonstrates in a few steps which is very easy to follow. It is NOT a botanical drawing/painting book, but a book where the aspiring artist can have fun. It has a section of studying the flower shapes as well as a directory of garden flowers in red, blue, purple, pink, etc., It also has a small section on leaves. It is a grand little book to have sitting next to your bed or at a table by your chair while you watch tv. I have many books on drawing but this quaint little book is my favorite when I just want to have fun, as I am studying botanical drawing and painting and this book relieves the stress of being precise. The pages are 6 inches by 7 1/2 inches with the book itself being 8 inches by 6 1/2 inches. It is just right to take anywhere with you. The best part is that is lists just about every popular flower one can think of as it is 189 pages not counting the index. I am in no way associated with this book. If I were a beginner, attempting to draw them based on the book's instructions, I would not succeed.
