Classical Guitar Technique: Essential Exercises, Scales, and Arpeggios (2019 Edition). Notation Only with Fingering, String Numbers, and Positions.122 Pages. Includes: Practice Routines, Tips, YouTube Lessons, 100 Open String Exercises, 120 Giuliani Arpeggios, Selected Scales (Major, Minor, 3rds, 6ths, Octaves, 10ths), Slur Exercises, Shifts, Finger Independence, Alignment, Stretch, Barre, Tremolo, Common Harmonics, Speed and Relaxation, and more. This book focuses on essential exercises for the development of classical guitar technique. All the exercises from the headings of the table of contents progress from easy to advanced in a progressive format. Although this is a book of exercises rather than a method, I have included many helpful tips throughout the book to aid students. As with all my materials, the video lessons are an added educational advantage.Intended for beginner to early-advanced classical guitar students (approximately RCM Toronto Grade 1-9). As a basic prerequisite students would have completed both Volume One and Two of my beginner method book series or an equivalent. There are a number of exercises in upper positions that include accidentals, therefore, additional reading experience is required if you wish to study the entire book. The inclusion of fingering, string numbers, and position marks should make the exercises easy to understand. The 100 open string exercises should be very accessible to beginners and advanced students alike.

It gets no better than this. An essential book for mastering classical guitar technique!
A stunningly good book packed with essential exercises for anyone wishing to develop a thorough and versatile technique on classical guitar.I come to this book as someone who primarily plays a bit of jazz, rock and blues and has very good technique but has also gained a decent amount of skill fingerpicking on acoustic and classical guitar. As I have been developing a greater love for playing classical guitar I began to notice that what was holding me back was a lack of proper classical guitar technique in my picking hand. This was ultimately preventing me from playing the pieces I was learning as correctly as I ought to be doing with my picking hand. Since working through some of the early exercises in this book I have noticed a more assured picking technique beginning to develop and I am already reaping the benefits when playing pieces that were giving me difficulties in certain hotspots.I can honestly say that I doubt you will find a better book for developing all manner of essential techniques for use on classical guitar and beyond. There are many years worth of examples to master so the earlier you start the better!

Good range of practice exercises
I’m a middle aged beginner on classical guitar though I’ve been playing acoustic guitar since I was a kid. Started with Bradford’s vol1 technique book & youtube videos. Bought this as I wanted to get a daily practice routine on the go. He gives rough recommendations and advice on setting a routine for your level. I can see this book is going to last me for years.I’m very impressed with Bradfords method and will be purchasing tech vol 2 next.

Concise, complete and video supported
There are lots of resources out there that include exercises, but this is the most concise one I've seen. Its also supported by video resources.

Comprehensive, well explained, varied sets of exercises.
If you are learning guitar with or without a teacher, this book is just great. I like it because of the huge variety of exercises - no need to get bored - and clear groupings, with gradation from beginner upwards. The advice at the beginning is excellent, and there are some videos by the author on Youtube containing lots of helpful detail on specific techniques. I can't recommend this enough - it's terrific value.

This is the best guitar technique book I have seen
This is the best guitar technique book I have seen. The technical exercises are totaly unambigious and inform the reader how to develop skills. Furthermore, the author has provided you tube vidoes of the exercises. If you wish to improve on classical guitar, even if you are receiving tuition, this book is a must.

Well thought out, well-written approaches to Classical Guitar Technique
If you have already viewed several YouTube videos of This Is Classical Guitar by Bradford Werner, then you are going to buy this book. If you haven't yet checked out Bradford's teaching style, then bookmark this page, go watch a few free videos and then come back and buy it. The book does not have as many exercises as "The Bible of Classical Guitar Technique" by Hubert Kappel, but it has more exercises than most players are ever going to need. More importantly, Werner has provided free YouTube videos that explain how to use the book and how to go about performing the exercises and how to modify them to your needs. I am delighted to have discovered Bradford on the internet. I was unable to practice and play guitar for several years due to health issues, but I have recently been able to resume a practice schedule. I had the benefit of a wonderful instructor many years ago in another state, and have not been successful in finding such an instructor where I have retired. Bradford's YouTube instruction and his downloadable music are accurate and musical. There are a few big names available to obtain instruction on Classical Guitar on the internet, but they have not provided anything like the wealth of material that Bradford has, much of it free. As to the book, you will want to take it immediately to a place like FEDEX to have the spine nipped off and converted to spiral binding so that the pages will lay flat on your music stand. There is no tablature in this manual, it is all about reading notes, but that is not a problem, because the book begins with simple open string (right hand) exercises, so you get to learn how to read music at the same time that you establish, improve and repair your technical facility. My congratulations to Bradford on this very useful publication. I plan to wear it out...

Excelente // Excellent
