How stiff are they? Do they bend like paper or remain rigid more like cardboard? I have had some of the thin ones and they curl and are useless.

They are not rigid. Very lightweight material. These are perfect for projects where you want to move things around. They are easily removed and stick with no problem. If you're looking for a more permanent and sturdy type material these will not work.

Are these tabs translucent?

Barely translucent, but definitely has a very slight translucent quality. The part that sticks to the page seems more translucent than the colored part.
