For the Price, You Can't Complain
Alright Amazon I'm going to be pretty blunt with this review; either I got a particularly good stand from the seller, or everyone's expectations are WAY too high for this item. Let's take a second and look at the price. What's it say there? What's that number? Sixteen bucks. Sixteen. That is dirt cheap. The bottle of fish oil supplements I buy cost more than this sword stand. That should set some reasonable expectations for this item. You get what you pay for cuts both ways.I ordered this sword stand for a Katana I own; a Munetoshi 1055 carbon steel dual ring style Katana. It's a gorgeous sword but alas, I had no where to truly display it with pride! All of the Amazon sword stands seem to be either cheap things like this or unusually expensive pieces with no middle ground. Despite the reviews on the item being pretty bad I figured for this price I'd make it a project. I had planned to sand it down, throw on some new paint, apply a coat of lacquer, put some fabric on the points of contact with the sword and paint on some decorations.I got this thing in the mail and to most peoples' credit, the item is different from the picture. I mean, yeah that's true, but it's not hard to figure out how to assemble this thing. It has the base, the two stands, and a center piece for stability and eight black screws to hold it all together. It's not something from IKEA ladies and gentlemen, it's a four piece sword stand. My little sister could have put this together. The wood also does feel a tiny bit cheap. When putting in the screws they seemed to be able to rotate past the point they should stop at but, I just stopped turning the screw-driver. The stand feels sturdy and I don't feel it would come apart of its own accord. It all turned out to be moot though because quality-wise, mine was actually pretty nice. The paint was solid and did not rub off nor were there any scuff marks at all. I could have re-painted it for a darker, deeper looking finish but it was in good enough condition as it was that I really didn't feel the need to gather the extra supplies and put forth the effort. What I did do though was buy a felt strip and cut it into slices to put on the curved portions where the swords rest. A felt strip will run you a couple cents at your local craft store and is well worth the time to glue them on to protect the swords. To sum it up, for the price you pay this is a pretty nice little stand. It's not the flashiest or best quality one out there I have no doubt but if you got some time, supplies, and a bit of handyman know-how you can turn this thing into a pretty impressive stand fairly easily. Just remember the price point. If you want the quality of a fifty dollar sword stand, you need to pay for a fifty dollar sword stand.

Not as advertised
This shelf is cheaply made, but that's okay, it does what it needs to do.. what makes me mad is that there is no way to hang this thing, and it is wobbly . It's pretty but needs some felt in the weapon holders. For the price, it's okay...just wish they had told the truth about hanging it and they shouldn't have shown it with hardware to hang it. It came in 3 parts. Easy to set it together even with no instructions, but I am going to glue it together. For the price, I am going to use it but it sure won't hang up. It did come fast and well packaged.

Okay yes cheap and very okay stand but I'm mainly writing this review to point out that the top review on this product IS NOT EVEN THE SAME ONE! The one I got and the one that is seen in the picture has THREE picecs the center and the two shelves NO mounting equipment. The product the top review has, has got to be some mix up.

Perfect!!
Table display stand arrived promptly and was well packaged. I received a stand that was different than the one displayed on Amazon. No problem, the stand I received looks sturdier than the one displayed and it works great. There were no instructions, but it was not difficult to figure out how to put it together. All hardware was included (some dowels and screws). Used a small amount of wood glue on the dowel surfaces, screwed everything together and the stand was holding my swords - from box to function in under 10 minutes!! I think it is a very functional stand, it works well, and I am very satisfied. May even buy another, when I get more swords.

Sturdy, but splitting.
Pros:SturdyHolds 3 swordsCan be used as stand or wall-mountedCons:Out of the box you get 4 pieces, and 0 screwsStarted splitting on back of right side piece (used thin 1 inch screws)feels, looks, and sounds (when splitting) like composite woodConclusion:Acceptable, if due to affordability. It may be composite wood, and it may be splitting a little, but it is heavy, and it is sturdy; if for the time being.

Attractive lines and sufficient dimensions. Mine fit together very loosely, the sides needed to be drilled and screwed into the bottom brace to prevent it from dropping all the way down, destabilizing it. If it had fit snugly or included screws to it together I'd have given four stars. I'm unsure of all of these fit loosely or if I just got a lemon.

It will do the job
It came very quickly but did not include instructions and is different then the picture on the website. It seems to be functional just might need to put a protective liner on the Tiers so the swords don't get scratched. Don't buy if you want it to look nice unless you want to do the work or if you have expensive swords. It's good for a temporary fix or if you don't care about a few scratches.

Make sure you have some wood glue and a black Sharpie.
You get what you pay for. It will suffice, and it's not bad for the money. Mine came with quite a few scuff marks, which are blatantly obvious with it being black and made out of MDF. It's also a bit different than pictured. None the less, for the $12 that you pay and 10 minutes of work, it will suffice.
