Very poor translation
I have done lymphatic massage for years and I appreciate good resource books. Dr Vodder is the originator! This book however is very poorly translated. I don’t recommend it

A good book but be aware…
An in depth book, required for the Vodder MLD courses. You definitely can’t skip buying this book for the course as it covers all the Anatomy, Physiology, info on lymphatic conditions, how MLD impacts the lymphatic system and treatment techniques - although you’d struggle to learn how to action these techniques without in person training. However there are parts of the book I have found challenging and I hope that if it is ever reprinted, these things are taken into consideration: I don’t know if this is down to the translation into English or due to the original text but sometimes the same thing, for instance an anatomical structure, will be referred to by different words in the book - I spent a lot of time trying to work out if it was referring to 2 different things or the same thing. (Also different words again are used in the online exam for some things e.g. dermis/cutis so watch out for that) - this would probably be less of an issue for someone from a medical background but as someone coming to this from a massage therapist background, I found it challenging! There are a series of questions in the book to help test your knowledge, but it’s not always stated which page the information relating to that question is, and the questions don’t necessarily work through the book in chronological order. For example the answer for question 24 is found on page 49 and the answer for question 25 is found on pages 22 & 25. One of the questions also had a typo referring to a different part of the body than the answer. The way some of the diagrams are labelled is annoying at best - rather than labelling the diagrams with words, they’re labelled with numbers and then in very small, squashed together print, all the parts corresponding to the label numbers are listed in one paragraph. That said, I’ve learnt a lot from this book and know I will continue to do so as I’m sure I’ll be referring back to it going forward.
