desertcart.com: The Last Mrs. Parrish: A Reese's Book Club Pick eBook : Constantine, Liv: Kindle Store Review: OMG love this book! - What can I say really but that I really enjoy this book a lot. There alot on this book that some people might not like but for me I like it cuz it just a book. I read with a friend on Instagram we both where enjoying this alot. By the time I got to part 2 of the book I finger what was going to happen. Like that Daphne was going to find out about Amber and who she really is. Daphne play her part very well and great. Just like Amber try to play her but it back fire but Amber didn't now. I so bad wanted to jump in the book and knock out Amber. Jackson was other! While reading more I was hating him also. I felt so bad for Daphne! By the end of part 2 going to part 3 Daphne new what she had to do to get out her marriage with Jackson and get her daughters out with her. In one part of the story Amber pee on herself. I would to if somebody had a gun in my mouth. By the end of part 3 Daphne was free and she screw over Jackson badly that the FBI was in the office. This is the part I didn't see coming at all. I was loving every bid of it! Jackson really thought that he was in control but guess not. What a Ending! What a great read! This had me hooked from the beginning. What a Rollercoaster! The sitting, theme, and the Characters had me pulled so in. Everything was well put together and it was just perfect. This novel would have you guess and thinking all these way to the end. What a great thrill and suspense. I love a great suspense that would have me think and guessing. This novel did just that to me. To the point that am wrong. When the ending comes am on shock. I wouldn't of never believe or guess. Like OMG! Highly recommend everybody get this book and read it. Its so good! Can't wait for his next book. Review: Full of twists and turns - This book has been on my list since it came out in 2017. So when I received an advance copy for the The Next Mrs. Parrish, it had to read this one. Check one book off my TBR list, only 4,999 more to go. What a fun, guilty pleasure! Told in two voices…Amber, a wannabe on the rich and famous scene and Daphne, the perfect wife, perfect life. We follow these two women and see how their lives come together. What starts as an orchestrated meeting evolves into a so-called friendship, and so much more. We are lulled into focusing on one woman’s obsession with fame and fortune and the other’s perfect husband, family, life. Be careful what you wish for! The man at the center, Daphne’s husband Jackson, is rich, smart, successful with movie star looks. But, under this perfect exterior, is the heart of a sociopath. I did not see that coming! With Amber, I immediately took a strong dislike. She is a the picture of narcissist, a totally unlikable human. My heart is already empathizing for Daphne. A socialite with a heart of gold, although a little naive, or is she? Jackson, a character I loved/hated. The storyline was entertaining, and had me totally absorbed from the beginning. Over the top fun. I loved the character development, taking my assessment of each from one extreme to the another. This book is full of twists and turns which makes it a perfect summer read. It sucked me in at a time when I needed an unputdownable read. As I finish this one, I’m jumping right into the sequel, The Next Mrs. Parrish.

Wow! What an outstanding book! Great Vacay reading! Great Book club reading!
The Last Mrs. Parrish is a very unusual novel by Liv Constantine. It is told in three sections, the first section is by Amber, the second by Daphne and the third is the conclusion. I had a little trouble getting into the book at first. It seemed to be just another novel about friends. However, it soon changed gears and caught my attention and then I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. There are definitely some devious twists and turns to the story that catch you by surprise. It makes for a fantastic book. I still want to know what happens to the characters next. Daphne Parrish has it all. She has a beautiful home, two beautiful children, all the money that she wants to spend, is looked up to as the main society lady of the town, is the head of a foundation, and to top it off, has a gorgeous husband who is totally in love with her and is exceedingly rich. If that isn’t enough, she is a very nice lady in her own right. What can she possibly be missing? Well, first of all, her sister died young of cystic fibrosis and her loving father died early of heart attack. She still has her Mother; but she is tied up with running their B&B. So, when Amber shows up having lost her sister to CF too, Daphne takes her into her heart and her family. Amber Patterson was tired of being poor and unimportant. She hated working from paycheck to paycheck and wanted to be among the rich, society types. To do this, she needed a rich husband so she looked at the various women at the gym and chose Daphne Parrish as her victim. Daphne had it all and Amber wanted it. Can she sneak her way into Daphne’s life and steal her husband and her life? Can she do it without betting caught up in her friendship with Daphne? What happens if she gets caught? What happens if she succeeds? Will her life be what she wishes it to be?

fun book, not incredibly well written
The writing is a bit predictable, but it’s very fun reading. Good for beach reading but the book is somewhat forgetable

Riveting page-turner tells a tale about how not all that glitters is gold
For full disclosure (and because I’m so giddy about this), I know the authors. One of them has known me for nearly my whole life and I have seen her sister at various occasions throughout my life as well. But! My 4-star rating is not gosh-wash; this is a terrific novel. I don’t often choose novels with characters of this type; i.e., the super-rich society people. I’m not very interested in celebrities or people who live that lifestyle, however, this element was essential to the plot and was masterfully employed. The novel winds along following, from an omniscient point-of-view, Amber Patterson, a small-town “nobody,”who seeks to insinuate herself into the lives of Daphne and Jackson Parrish, super-rich society people. You will hate Amber almost from the first page as you see how deviously she plans her moves and how despicably she will go about getting what she wants. But where the novel really blew my mind was in Part II, when we now see the story as it unfolded from Daphne’s point-of-view. Oh. My. Gosh! If an author can surprise me, they have me forever and that is just what happened from the first line of Part II. I already had some notions about how this book was going to go, but I WAS WRONG! The central twist of plot was not what I expected. Who is bad in this story and in what way they are bad DID surprise me! (Well, except for Amber; she is bad from the first word to the last.) The authors do a superb job of describing the sociopathic behavior of a character. The acts are so wrong and yet ring utterly true. The turtles. The food. The journals. The initials. The gaslighting. It’s terrific. My only mild complaint about the story, and why it gets 4 stars and not five, (Actually, I would give it 4.5 if I could, because this is minor) is that the pacing towards the end is very fast and some details are not resolved comprehensively. In other words, there was great story tension surrounding a couple of questions (i.e., is she pregnant with a boy?), but those questions are answered in an incidental way, which felt like a betrayal of the tension torqued up earlier. Perhaps the authors had more to say about those things, but they had to be shaved for length. It wasn’t a serious problem. In summary, this book was a great page-turner that was hard to put down. It showed great insight into how people behave, especially where devious and manipulative people are concerned. If there’s a lesson in the book, it is that you never know what goes on behind closed doors, and money is clearly not everything.

Twisted, Addictive, and Full of Surprises!
If you’re in the mood for a psychological thriller that will keep you up late into the night, The Last Mrs. Parrish is the one to pick up. This bestselling novel, a Reese Witherspoon Book Club selection, draws you into the life of Amber Patterson, a woman determined to climb the social ladder by any means necessary. Amber sets her sights on Daphne Parrish, a wealthy and seemingly perfect socialite, and soon begins to execute her calculated plan to infiltrate Daphne’s world. What follows is a deliciously twisted story full of deception, manipulation, and jaw-dropping twists. Amber’s character is as cunning as they come, and the unfolding drama between her and the Parrishes will leave you questioning everyone’s motives. As the layers peel back, the shocking secrets and revelations keep coming, making this book impossible to put down. The tension builds beautifully, and just when you think you’ve figured it all out, the story takes another unexpected turn. The Last Mrs. Parrish is a highly addictive read, perfect for fans of smart, suspenseful thrillers. I loved every minute and can’t wait to dive into The Next Mrs. Parrish next!

Be careful what you homewreck for!
Amber knows what she wants in life, and that’s to be a rich man’s wife. She longs for the easy life — wealth, spas, vacations, jewelry, handbags — and she finds it all in Mr. Jackson Parrish. There’s only one problem: he’s already married to Daphne. Daphne is tall, blonde, beautiful. What’s worse? Jackson is crazy about her, can’t take his eyes off her. But Amber knows just what to do to win him over. She’s younger than Daphne, more attractive too (once her “ugly disguise” comes off), all points in her favor. But first, she must win over Daphne and their two young daughters. Amber will stop at nothing. She’s done it before. Even though she’s on the run and is under a different identity, her fugitive status won’t stop her from having the affluent life of a socialite she “deserves” to have, even if it means destroying everything and everyone around her. But looks could be deceiving. She should know, and yet she doesn’t see what is clearly in front of her... The first half of this book — Amber’s point of view — is rather dull, and the third-person narrative doesn’t help. I put this book down more times than I care to admit. I almost gave up on it. But I pressed on. Both Ammy and Netflix acquired the film rights for this book. The former cancelled the project, and the latter took over. So I pressed on. It gets better, so much better I couldn’t put the Kindle down. Daphne’s (first-person) point of view is so much more riveting. You’ll want to keep reading. I can’t wait to see it in motion. THE LAST MRS. PARRISH is a cross between A SIMPLE FAVOR and BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. This sister team knows how to write a smart thriller with interesting twists. It appears to be straightforward, but watch out for those curve balls! Downsides? The first half. Read it anyway. If you like domestic thrillers with ASPD characters, then this is a must-read! Four out of five Five-Spice hazelnut lattes with “hybrid” steamed milk-slash-syrup (my new obsession!).
