Great book
I bought this for my elderly dad who has Alzheimer's. He really enjoys looking through the book & recognises many of the artists. There is sufficient written information about each artist for him to read as well as photo's. It has been a great tool for reminiscing & encouraging conversation. Highly recommend.

Best present ever - lots of laughs & pictures triggered lots of stories
My grandmother, 99 and her sister, 95 had a lovely afternoon with this book. my grandmother has vacular dementia but with this book we had a wonderful afternoon as the pictures prompted lots of memories and funny stories - tears of laughter which in recent years have been sadly lacking. what a brilliant buy, like getting her back for a little while. thank you

My husband loves it.
When this book arrived, I was disappointed. Seemed thin and not very interesting. What do I know? My husband is 90 and suffers from dementia. He LOVES it. It has become his favourite book! It has clear photos of people and things that he recognises and the print is large, so he tries to read it, even on his own.

Great for Alzheimers parents
Great for reminiscing but shame the pictures are black and white inside.

Great book for older relatives with dementia. We purchased this book for my 92 year old mother in law with mild dementia. I canโt tell you how many times sheโs mentioned how much sheโs enjoyed this book. It has sparked so many memories and has brought her a lot of joy reminiscing about the 1940โs. She has shared the book with friends in her retirement community and together have shared stories of days gone by. Thank you for publishing such a wonderful book, it has brought so much happiness.

My mother is late stage dementia. Repeats a lot. Still interacts. Lives in the present. Born 1931. She absolutely loves this book. The combination of photos and simple text work for her. I've showed it to her about 3 times. She gets absorbed and repeatedly says "This is fascinating." Loves Clark Gable and Cary Grant a lot. She asks me who certain people are and says, "Oh yes," when I tell her. This book is a great hit for at least one elderly woman with dementia.

Nice book. Agree with another review that a lot of the events were from the UK. Still nice. My friend enjoyed it.
