I didn't want to spend fifty bucks on it but I am so glad that I did. Everyone compliments it and it is just so beautiful. I put it around the livingroom window but it could go around a door frame or just on the wall with other frames between. In my opinion, you definitely need an extra item to hang in the middle up top to fill the emptiness. The swirls at the top are plastic which surprised me, I expected metal but it does look metal. The frames themselves are also plastic but the hooks and pieces that connect each frame are metal. All together, it is a little heavy but sturdy on the wall with two nails in the swirls then the frames just hang down.
