The bottle i received had a manufacture date of nov 2018 ( which they tried to hide behind a label) and a best by date of nov 2020. what's up?

Same here. My harvest date was also covered by a label, and it was harvested in ‘20, with a Best By date of this September. It’s already bitter. I’m seriously bummed.
