It's made with real wood, but it's a very thin sheet. The plastic case that the wood is set in is very flimsy and made with some cheap plastic. Of course, I knew that when I purchased it, and protection wasn't the point of this case. However, after about 6 months, the corners of the wood started to come unglued and became bent.
