Just like hanging and brand light fixture.. pros make hanging it look easier than it really is to hang. Maybe our problem was the light fixture works on a slanted ceiling ONLY if ceiling plate runs ACROSS the slant in the ceiling not with the slant. If you are purchasing this light fixture to run top to bottom of a slanted ceiling SAVE YOUR MONEY. This fixture was designed to run across the slant! If you are replacing a chandelier that used a round ceiling plate be ready to do a little drywall patchwork on the ceiling where the old fixture use to be. The rectangular plate was just shy of covering the old hole in the ceiling where the round plate use to be. We were able to make this fixture work against the slant but it took 3 hours to hang, adding links of chain and being creative trying to get the support rods to hang even keeping the fixture level. Bottom line .... there are all kinds of beautiful lighting fixtures. Move on to another fixture if the ceiling slants the wrong way for proper installation. You need 2 people and even so its not a great design.
