Especially if you intend on going on extensive kayak tours when the grips really make a difference. I haven’t had a single blister since installing these on my paddle for my 9 mile route. They do have a tendency to slightly slip if they get overly wet which may cause a minimal problem if your stuck in rough conditions and can’t quite make slight adjustments on the water. Keep them dry! If they do slip an easy fix is to remove them, dry the paddle shaft, and then reinstall.
