A: Your converter should fit the broadest range of Cross fountain pens, particularly if the pen base cost is $250 or above.

**Q: So the converter would take place of the ink cartridge?**
A: Yes, that's correct. Once you install the converter you place the nib into the ink bottle to fill. Then wipe off the excess ink with a tissue and you're good to go! I prefer to use Sheaffer ink in my pens, but there are plenty to choose from.

**Q: Would this converter work in a Cross Calais?  Thank you in advance for any assistance.**
A: Also 17 dollars is a ridiculous price. Just did an eBay search for "cross converter" 10 bucks with shipping. Just buy the green one
