I bought this pdobq adapter to leave plugged into my living room Switch dock so I can finally stop unplugging my official charger whenever I travel. Finding a cheap spare that actually triggers the TV mode can be annoying since the console needs a specific 15V power output. The cable fits perfectly into the console port and pushes video to the TV just as consistently as the Nintendo brand charger. It gets a solid five stars from me because it does the exact same job as the expensive official version for a lot less money. The power brick charges the console battery back to full in just a couple of hours and never gets overly hot while I play. You do have to be careful where you plug it in because the square block shape is wide enough to cover up the outlet next to it. The short cable length is great for hiding behind a TV cabinet but is completely useless if you want to play on the couch in handheld mode. The plastic shell feels a lot cheaper and lighter than the original charger but that is totally fine for a budget replacement. Using this adapter every day for the past month convinced me that buying the expensive brand name replacement is just a waste of money. It is the perfect choice if you want to set up a second dock in another room or just need a cheap spare for your backpack. Anyone who plays mostly in handheld mode away from an outlet will definitely want to buy something with a much longer cable. For twelve bucks it gives you the exact power you need for the dock and saves you from crawling behind your TV stand.

Works excellent, just as good as the branded cord that comes with the switch. Had to buy this because we bought our switch in another country and didn’t want to use an adaptor to plug in the cord. This is a perfect replacement and charges nicely.
